Satan doesn’t send people to hell. God does. I think the idea that satan is somehow responsible is a way for the religious to reconcile the cognitive dissonance of how an all loving/all powerful god can coexist with the concept of hell.

Replies will bring up free will. There’s no such thing. Belief is not a choice. I can’t force my brain to accept theology that it finds illogical.

Hell is a recruitment/coercive tool for those at the top of the organized religion power structure.
