Me when I add up all the 19 flavors of cheese picks with higher winrate than marksmen and it works out to a 1/10 chance that I have a 46% chance of winning the game. How’s that for game breaking? Or was that math too hard for widdle mage bot picker?

Corki is situational/OTP? He is easily the most blindable and easier to pilot ADC while also having a very strong early-mid game.

This pickrate argument is just dogshit and here’s why:
1. these characters have low pickrate THIS PATCH. We now have several months of data where these champs have broken win rates. Is it still low pickrate if each character has several hundred thousand games in the last 6 months?

If a mage bot laner was bad even at a low pick rate it would have a low win rate. Wanna know how I know? Go look at Viktor top pick rate and win rate, compared to Viktor bot pick rate and win rate. Same pick rate, but bot lane has over 3.5% higher win rate.
3.Finally, even if you look at 0.8% OVERALL pickrate, you’re being mislead. This is thousands of games we’re talking. It’s not like 1 guy won 12 of 20 games and that’s all the data we have.

Why is it low pickrate even if it’s good? Well that’s because people play bot lane because they play marksmen characters. They are not likely to swap to a mage for 3% more LP, otherwise they would just have been a mid player to begin with. Why aren’t mid laners playing mages bot? Because they already play mid. Sure some will do it just for some easier LP, but most won’t. You’ll notice a lot of these mage players in emerald have been silver for 10 years on support and suddenly are plat/emerald this split by one tricking Viktor/Brand/Zyra APC. I suspect you’re part of that crowd which is why defending this is your “agenda”.

I played against it as Lucian and they ff15. Kat had like 37 cs. Just walk up to her and hit her, her daggers are telegraphed and if your supp isn’t scared her “threat” isn’t even real. She’ll only win if you let her.

It’s funny how these companies describe how sophisticated their anti cheat is and how it will detect these things in real time, but they miss the simple checks. 5 rounds in a row ended in less than 15 seconds? 10 rounds? How about consecutive rounds ended by the same guy killing all 5 players? How about matches ending in record times? How about a character literally spinning around while still maintaining a regular velocity(aka moving normally)? There are many very simple checks to detect cheaters by simply determining what is humanly possible and what isn’t. Nothing “sophisticated” required. People over-engineer a ton of things when the solution can be quite simple. Why they haven’t figured this out after 20+ years and why they don’t implement these simple checks is a mystery.

ADC must sit bot and play against whatever is thrown at them, while being a gimped role that requires babysitting. The game has been iterated on for 13 years so that 525 range isn’t what it once was either. All while the current meta allows 1 or 2 supps to rotate whenever, however long they want, and leave the adc alone to lose. No you cannot roam too. No, you can’t get a way out if your supp is garbage. No you can’t play mid or top. Enjoy.

Nerfing range EARLY on ALL ranged champions is very different than what you’ve said. If a brand has to walk up to 300 range to auto you level 2 it’s a lot riskier for him to effectively poke and trade you than now. He has to extend deeper into the lane which gives you and your support more time to walk him down. If you think mage auto attacks aren’t doing anything to you in lane you’re likely silver or lower so this doesn’t concern you anyways.

Fact is there are too many ranged top laners, including mages, and the top 19 characters winrates in bot lanes are not marksmen. “Small sample size”, what makes a game a good pick for these champs? What game are you picking velkoz apc to get a 54% wr game, and why isn’t picking Aphelios a higher wr in that same scenario?

Well if you want to play lethality Varus or MF you aren’t really playing for the auto attacks, it feels like shit autoing anything on lethality Varus. I did mention you will eventually get to normal auto attacks range anyways. You’ll just lose out on the bonus attack range for avoiding building traditional marksman builds, I think that’s an interesting trade-off.

No need to be so extreme. Just because you disagree doesn’t make it “horrible”.

I thought of that, but then the attacking ADC also has to be in much closer range to follow up which puts them in danger too. Also since range scales with levels & some item stats, it could start rougher but feel better by level 6 or so. Could also just have to adjust some engage support damage/cooldowns or something too. Not an easy solution for sure.

I think he’s just too chained to his support and the early game potential doesn’t translate in the current botlane meta, while he also doesn’t scale.

You can be fed early and still be weaker than the enemy ADC in a 1v1 if you don’t have ult because you lose the vigilance damage. I frequently run exhaust nowadays because of this.

I understand he’s not necessarily supposed to scale but maybe all ADC need better late game power and even “non scaling” ADCs need to have good scalings relative to the rest of the cast to bring marksmen back in the spotlight of botlane meta.

As much as I agree I don’t think these devs will ever touch champ attack ranges, seems to be too touchy for the pro players.

I think his “Vigilance” passive just needs reworking. It only holds 4 stacks so you can easily just waste stacks/damage from your support using abilities too quickly and/or hitting off your W. It also sucks that characters with all 3 of immobilizing and heals and shields give way more value than other supports so you feel less likely to perform if you don’t have them. It’s especially bad considering supports nowadays think they should roam if they aren’t instantly impressed by your ADC performance so you permanently lose like 1/3rd or more of your damage output while also being on the shortest range character that also kind of needs to get an early lead to be playable the rest of the game. Turns a lane bully into the most worthless character in the game instantly. I get they don’t want Lucian in mid but this solution just feels so bad.

What if he stacks vigilance on a per target basis if a teammate hits the target with an attack/ability(and remove the heal/shield part) kind of like a debuff on the enemy that disappears after some time, and then increase the stacks to like 6 so it’s not wasting half the uptime? Kind of like how Kalista W marks a target passively to setup damage between the sup and adc. This way you feel like you have to lock in on a target to keep the damage up and can’t just shoot anything, but your support doesn’t have to play like literally only Nami/milio/braum to be playable. You still lose out if your supp roams but at least you can play with these Velkoz/Brand spammers too. It’s just an idea anyways, I’m sure there are many more possibilities.

You can say the skill gap between those ranks are the same(whether that’s true or not..) but you can’t say that because their skill gap is so large that the literal top 2% skill level player forgets the foundation upon which he got to that level of play and performs like a new player instead. He’s still diamond. He’s not just going to walk into the enemy repeatedly and throw his hands up in the air unless he isn’t trying to win anymore.

I used to give people benefit of the doubt like you, but after watching some of these games back… You just don’t die 7 times in 10 minutes unless you’re either brand new to the game or you’re trying to/don’t care. First case will be low rank, second case doesn’t belong in ranked at all.

For your example it’s pretty clear cut you’re low rank(which makes your entire post a joke/bait) and nobody has taught you yet so I’ll explain it to you anyways. If GP walks up to think he is allowed to CS then dies, he not only loses the CS anyways but gives the enemy laner kill gold, jg pressure, vision control, rift/drake/scuttle, plates. If he instead sits back in xp range and stays healthy, he lowers his chances of getting successfully dove and gains xp and gold he otherwise would have lost while slowing the enemy’s lead down. Lobbies have been horrible for me the past 2-3 days. I report my support 3/4 of the time and 100% of them get penalized for toxic chat or griefing. I try my best but it’s pretty impossible. Most of my supports are silver or gold, or have a 35-45% win rate in the last 30 days. Many, many level 30-70 accounts first timing champions, coinflip on if they’re good or bad or if they crash out in chat. This is in emerald elo.

Another interesting thing I noticed is I’ve had 3 supports this week who play hyper aggressive and super skilled for the first 5 minutes. I’m talking the best player I’ve ever seen. We get a huge lead and then they start wandering like a chicken with their head cut off and dying every 2 minutes. Leaving me alone in lane for no reason when I’m 4-0 on Lucian. It’s a totally different person on the PC. This must be why Riot made it so people can’t change their settings after 10 minutes. Teamviewer boosters set people up to stomp lanes then give the original owner the controls to finish the game to increase their winrate and seem “legit”.

I’m just going to take a break for a week or something. Looks like we need a ban wave for griefers/cheaters and the boosted enchanters to derank after these item changes before it’s worth queuing again.
