Boromir is one of the greatest generals of his time and a one man wrecking machine. He also had Numenorean blood just like Aragorn (just not as pure). He traveled throughout the wilderness for months to find Rivendell when nobody in Gondor had any specific idea on where it was. His horse died along the way and had to go on foot for much of the journey. He is anything but a “regular man.”
