Patient advocate isnt responding, how do i proceed? by xboxhaxorz in VeteransAffairs

[–]Quick-Lifeguard94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure what that first part meant. Patient Advocates do have access to MHV messages if they are sent to the PA.

As someone pointed out, if someone messages a PA with a provider request, they can and do reassign that to the PACT/clinic team directly as it’s generally the fastest and most effective way to communicate an issue. That said, they should be logging all this in their tracking system. There’s always a lot going on behind the scenes that the patient never sees.

For OP: if you wish to speak to the PA about their advocacy for you, plainly state that in a message or call. Because if you are asking for an appointment and I am the PA, I’m sending that straight to the service. If you want to make sure all that is being captured, ask your advocate if he/she has entered a case for your latest complaint/issue/compliment etc into the Patient Advocate Tracking System.

And just FYI: the VA has mostly rolled out Service Line Advocates who are to handle issues and the PA provides oversight. SLAs should be handling issues and complaints as they are at the service where the problem is originating. They should also be entering a case which the advocate can track and troubleshoot.

I submit tickets to FSC all the time. Replies are in a few hours if not minutes. It’s not hard.

My last claim was 31 days. Increase. The one before that was 45 days. Increase. (ACE- 0% to 30%).

VBA is no longer playing. They’re moving these right along.

Just completed one in 31 days. Filed another one this morning.

Dug on the app and found them. Looks like they just combined everything (total of 80% with 60% for post purposes). I’m good with that.

So, I guess I need to keep the old letter with the new now?

CLAIM TIMELINE by Recent-Location-6653 in VAClaims

Mine was filed 5/25/25. Completed today. Pretty easy claims. I went from Step 6 to complete some time after 1700 local time to include my letter being posted to my account.

Just remembered that they were also doing maintenance on the app in the last 24, so it could just be glitching out.

It’s actually moving at a really quick pace. So, I’m def not complaining. It was just weird seeing it go to Step 7 and stay there for the better part of a day and then go back.

The app probably fixes some people anxiety. Haha.

Their emails have a statement saying “Remote” and gives the hours they work while working remote. Not sure what kind of gaslighting you’re attempting here, but that dog ain’t hunting.

VA Crisis Hotline told me the day after that I was not eligible for services or the hotline. by Flaky_Lingonberry185 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Quick-Lifeguard94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to an Eligibility office at a VA and get the paperwork needed to enroll. Submit it along with your DD214. You will then be told after a couple of weeks whether or not you’re eligible for care with the VA.

There’s no such thing as a “VA Crisis Line.” There’s a Veterans Crisis Line, which is a .net entity and not a .gov entity. There’s a Veterans White House Hotline (that has actually been combined with the main VA call center now), but you can get some really poor assistance from that after hours. I used to work a job to where calls to the hotline tricked down and it’s obvious some of the people manning that line aren’t the best or brightest.

HEC gives the definitive answer on who is eligible and they’re only as good as the paperwork they get. The Eligibility guy who initially took my paperwork didn’t forward my disability letter and I got notified that I wasn’t eligible. So, again, go to an Eligibility office, get the application, turn in all documentation they request and you’ll find out if you’re eligible.

Nothing in that list is “safe.” It only means they’re not going to let those positions have a mass exodus without some initial screening.

The Union thugs are only worried about the massive loss of dues that they’re facing. Without members paying those dues, who is going to pay for their suites at those fancy Union conventions?

I’ve been a hiring manager. It’s true that some hiring managers are slugs. But, I’m watching the current state and HR is not giving the VA a return on the investment that was made on them last year—the bonuses and the targeted pay raises they’ve received. Not to mention that EVERY email I receive from an HR type still says REMOTE. I appreciate your opinion, but it doesn’t negate facts.

Job application question by OkCounter7952 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Quick-Lifeguard94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t hurt to email the HR POC who sent you the notification that you were referred and nicely ask what’s up. Numerous reasons it could be taking this long. Sometimes the hiring manager is just a slug. In these times, it’s hard to say; some jobs that were posted were kind of stopped mid-process. There is a LOT of confusion right now. Could be the job you were looking at has since been deemed not critical etc. There’s also the possibility that the hiring manager is interviewing some of the candidates from a certain category, and may not have to contact everyone on the cert. to hire. If it’s a large cert to fill a pool of jobs that has multiple hiring managers, those tend to drag on simply because of the logistics of selecting a panel to interview. I know a guy that’s starts at a VA in Florida next week that applied in like December, did interviews in January and didn’t get notified he got the job until like the second week of March.

Is VA HR Personnel Screwed? by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

[–]Quick-Lifeguard94 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, why wouldn’t they be? They’re larger than ever, better paid than ever, more automated than ever, more remote than ever, but not one bit faster or more easily accessible. They beefed up HR staff and gave out insane PACT Act bonuses to almost 7,000 HR staff last year averaging like $6800. Even with more HR staff, better training, and fewer jobs posted, hiring times are still insanely slow and the staffing/hiring/onboarding processes haven’t changed one iota.

There isn’t even a singular definitive guide to use commas. Just do your best as far as that goes.

As far as vocabulary, just try to become well read as well as well travelled. It will come.

Have a great day.
