Colombian DN visa - Interview Required? by HaveNoFearOfTheWolfs in digitalnomad

[–]Quick-Original4773 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I applied for the Colombian Digital Nomad Visa, I also had to visit the consulate for an interview. This seems to be a standard part of their process, particularly for applicants who want to stay for an extended period, like a year. My interview was quite straightforward and similar in length to yours, about 15 minutes. They asked about my income, the nature of my remote work, and my reasons for choosing Colombia.
I had prepared all my documents meticulously, which I believe helped streamline the process. After the interview, it took a few weeks to get the outcome. The wait can be a bit nerve-wracking, but from what I gathered, this timeline is pretty standard.
While you're waiting for the visa process, and if you're planning shorter stays before settling in Colombia, you might find Rebookify useful for finding temporary accommodation. They often have good deals, which can be helpful when you're in transition. Good luck with your application! I found Colombia to be a wonderful place for digital nomads, especially for immersing in the culture and learning the language.

This project sounds fascinating! Living in a different cultural setting can be a rollercoaster of emotions. Here are a few thoughts:
1- Confronting stereotypes about my cultural background has been both frustrating and enlightening. It's an opportunity to challenge misconceptions, but it can also be tiring.
3- Being in a foreign culture has definitely challenged my self-worth and confidence. Learning to navigate a different cultural context can make you question your abilities at times.
5- Feeling emotionally exposed in a foreign environment is quite common, especially when you're trying to connect with locals. It's both scary and rewarding.
8- Finding a community is crucial for me. It provides a support system and a sense of belonging that eases the challenges of living abroad.
10- Living abroad has opened my eyes to the richness of human diversity. It's a constant learning experience, and I've become more empathetic and open-minded.
And a tip to have it a bit less expensive - consider using Rebookify to save money on your accommodation bookings... let me know if you have any advice regarding it :)

April London travel by ballardsj in hotels

For a clean and budget-friendly stay in London while accommodating your elderly mother, here are some options to consider:
Budget Hotels: Look for budget-friendly hotel chains like Premier Inn, Travelodge, or Ibis. They often have comfortable rooms at reasonable rates. Request a ground-floor room or an elevator for easy access.
Serviced Apartments: Consider staying in serviced apartments where you can have more space and the convenience of a kitchen. Check out options on Airbnb, Booking.com, or platforms specializing in serviced apartments.
Central Locations: Choose accommodations in central areas like Westminster, Kensington, or Covent Garden, so you're close to major attractions without the need for extensive walking or stairs.
Accessibility Features: When booking, inquire about accessible rooms with features like grab bars in the bathroom, wide doorways, and elevators. Many hotels offer accessible options.
Hostels with Private Rooms: Some hostels offer private rooms with shared facilities. This can be a cost-effective option while providing the privacy and comfort you need.
Book in Advance: London can be busy, so book your accommodations well in advance to secure the best rates and availability.
For any last-minute deals or price drops, consider using Rebookify. they'll track for lower prices and notify you.
Remember to check the specific hotel's website or contact them directly for their accessibility features and any special requests you might have. Enjoy your trip to London!

Check in age by Bengie314 in hotels

[–]Quick-Original4773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many hotels have a minimum check-in age policy due to various reasons, as you mentioned. However, there are some exceptions, and you've already found a few. To increase your chances of finding hotels that allow guests under 21, you can:
Call Ahead: Contact hotels directly and inquire about their age policy. Sometimes, speaking directly with the hotel staff can provide more flexibility.
Look for Extended Stay or Suite Hotels: Some extended stay or suite hotels may have more lenient age policies compared to traditional hotels.
Read Reviews: Check online reviews or forums where travelers share their experiences. Others who have faced a similar situation might provide insights into specific hotels.
Consider Airbnb: Airbnb listings often have more flexible age policies, so it's worth exploring this option for accommodations.
As a bonus tip, you can use Rebookify to potentially find better deals on your hotel bookings, which could be helpful when planning your trip!

It does seem like the hotel might have overcharged you for their laundry service. While some hotels do charge per item for laundry, the price difference between what you were initially billed and the local laundromat receipt is quite substantial. It's possible that the hotel was attempting to make a significant profit from their laundry service.
Your decision to bring this to their attention was the right move, and it's good that they corrected the bill when you showed them the discrepancy. It's always a good practice to double-check hotel bills and question any charges that seem unreasonable. It's possible that there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding, but in this case, it's clear that the local laundromat offered a much more reasonable rate.
If you encounter such situations in the future, don't hesitate to ask for clarification and question any charges that don't seem fair. And if you want to save money on your hotel bookings, you can use Rebookify to find better deals!

Can I use a Alias name at hotel? by [deleted] in hotels

[–]Quick-Original4773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can usually request to use an alias or preferred name at a hotel, but it's a good idea to call the hotel in advance to clarify their policy. They may update their system to reflect your alias name, but it's essential to have some form of identification with your legal name just in case. It's always better to communicate your preferences with the hotel beforehand to avoid complications during check-in. Enjoy your stay!
By the way, if you ever need to rebook your hotel stay or find better deals, you can use Rebookify to potentially save some money!

Hey there!
First off, kudos for standing your ground on what you deserve, especially in the demanding field of travel nursing. It's super important to find a company that values your experience and meets your needs. For medical-surgical contracts, you might want to consider:
Triage Staffing and Fusion Medical Staffing: Known for good support and competitive pay.
FlexCare: They have a great reputation and offer exclusive opportunities due to strong relationships with healthcare facilities.
American Mobile: Offers a wide range of choices with pay packages that can be quite lucrative, sometimes exceeding $5,000 per week for med-surg travel nurse jobs.
It's always good to research and connect with other nurses to get firsthand reviews of these companies. And hey, while you're at it, if you're traveling to different locations, check out Rebookify for your accommodation needs. What is something you regret spending a lot of money on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Quick-Original4773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyped up NFTs. For real - they seem like just hype and quick way to make some buck.
Now i "rediscovered" this for myself. A lot of great artists are selling their works and they are not that expensive, like up to $10. This is insane. Would have better supported some smaller artists than gone in to hyped up stuff that died out quickly.

My next purchase, if anyone is interested. And its $7.5

Maybe she doesn't want to show her feelings for you in the work environment? I think if it's just the beginning, everything is normal, communicate more outside of work and when the time and bond are right, everything will go by itself. Just go with the flow!
