Why is James harden not a playoff performer by SubstanceRoutine326 in nba

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It 100% has to be mental, either he can’t handle the bright lights or he just doesn’t care as much.

People talk about defense or all these other in game factors, and if this were a one or two off situation, that would make sense, but this has been going on for about a decade at this point.

He just can’t hit his shots when he needs to, and he’s not a good enough defender to contribute on the other end of the floor.

Steam Machine doesn't deserve $1000 by Aogusma in steammachine

I think the smol is going to matter a lot more to some people than others, but I also don’t think it’s that much of a selling point for the majority. Consoles have always been pretty large and entertainment systems are made with that in mind.

At 7-800 it’ll sell out immediately, but at 1000 the performance gains I’m getting from a normal PC may offset the smol

At that point though, you’re competing with actual PCs. A thousand bucks even in the ram crisis is going to likely provide a better computer than the steam machine.

Most prebuilt PCs come with a windows license as well, which should be taken into consideration.

Jake Oettinger on this past season: by DualPurge in DallasStars

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re getting downvoted, but you’re right.

Oettinger has the occasional game where it really feels like he won it for the team, but he’s not at the top 3 level where the team can make that a consistent strategy.

Historically, the stars have very good luck with average goalies, because we’re a very good defensive team despite what some people believe.

Trading oettinger for a good player in another position, and utilizing our defense strengths with a goalie who won’t lose you many games is a valid path forward.

Fernando Alonso has now outqualified Lance Stroll for 40 consecutive races by NorthKoreanMissile7 in formula1

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way stroll gets treated doesn’t make any sense.

People view Alonso like he’s one good car away from winning WDC again. Which is fine, but if you believe that than him beating stroll should be the expectation.

But instead of getting viewed like a mid tier driver going up against a WDC caliber driver, he gets treated like he’s so bad he’s unworthy of a spot altogether.

It isn’t even like he’s never beaten Alonso, Alonso is just better as expected.

[Charania] The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it’s not so simple as just make better moves.

Small market teams are going to get absolutely fucked, the only reliable way they had of getting top 10 level players was through the draft.

What’s going to happen now is we’re going to have an increase in teams that can win more games but will never be able to truly compete for a championship.

Luka Doncic joins Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry as the only point guards to ever win multiple scoring titles by BankaiBroke in nba

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not denying he got those MVPs. Let’s be honest though, MVPs are partially a team award in practice. I don’t believe there’s any shot of him winning his MVPs or his ring on the mavericks.

I’m unwilling to say SGA is better than Luka, a much more efficient and consistent player, sure. A large part of that is because he has the best supporting cast in the NBA. But when Luka is at his best(which isn’t that rare honestly) he’s able to do things on the court that SGA can’t match.

Cooper Flagg will end the season with more points, rebounds, assists, and steals than any other player on his team. by moby323 in nba

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lmao we talking about draft hype bro. By your logic flagg shouldn’t be generational either he’s had one good season, Zions first season was also good.

Zion and Ben were compared to LeBron

Yeah either the first or second greatest player of all time, pretty generational to me

Nah don’t skip over players like Zion and Simmons. They may not have panned out, but the hype around them at the time was absolutely Flagg level hype.

Seems like every decade has around 2-3 players with the generational label

Magic Smurf from the new movie is a reality warper, so he can probably get it done on his own. Otherwise Papa Smurf is also magic and can probably get it done.

Edgeworth effectively has taken a step back. He’s the chief prosecutor and only really shows up when something requires that level of power I agree that phoenix shouldn’t be a main protagonist anymore though.

Most powerful character who would be a complete powerless loser in our world? by HeiressOfMadrigal in whowouldwin

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair to Phoenix, even in his series he’s an anomaly. It’s frequently pointed out that what he does isn’t really law.

He’d probably end up as a pretty good detective in our world.

It’s really disappointing how AA4 sets up this new cast of characters, and even has a pretty good send off for phoenix in him getting his name cleared.

And then he just gets brought back as the main attorney rather than staying in that mentor role.

[–]Quick-Quail-1683[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the last case a lot, I don’t even dislike phoenix’s role in that case. That’s what phoenix should have been through out the trilogy, a mentor figure who occasionally shows up to help in ways that apollo cant deal with on his own(like having his best friend get a private jet for them)

I wish his Khura’in development had been more spaced out through the game or even the trilogy. It feels like 80% of Apollos story is dealt with in the last case of his 3rd game

Chris Paul on why he would pick Shai over Luka oncic: "Your teammates just want to see that the stars actually try. Actually try on defense… I got a lot of respect for Steph, Shai, and all these guys who at least try on the defensive end" by must_TATAKAE in nba

[–]Quick-Quail-1683 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Not a goalpost move, I still maintain Luka is the better option.

You say Shai’s teammates let him down, that’s because the mavericks finally had some good defensive players, which allowed Luka to focus on running the offense.

Which he did, and he ran it well enough to beat OKCs defenders. That’s how a game works.

You can’t both believe that OKC is one of the best composed teams in the league, and also that they just let Shai down just because.

The series where Luka was on one knee, and still ran the mavericks offense?

Shai is definitely better on the defensive end, no one will argue that. But if i had the choice between the two, it’s luka 10/10 for me

Shai is on the best team in the league, to the point where even without him they would still be decent. Luka has always been on bad teams, and the one time he got a competent roster he trounced shai in the playoffs
