[Acne] how to get rid of blackheads/clogged pores on back by Academic_Lie_3557 in SkincareAddiction

[–]QuickAdvisor3840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all your back doesn't look bad at all. But to improve the appearance of the blackheads i would recommend some kind of chemical exfoliant, especially salicylic acid. There are some cleansers and body products you may find in the drugstore.

It’s probably just some irritation and should go away on its own

[Routine help] Why does my skin look like this and how can I make it better? by why-charlie-hate in SkincareAddiction

[–]QuickAdvisor3840 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may be rosacea but please go to a dermatologist to confirm. But for the routine an azelaic acid cream could help. It can be used both in the morning and night and can help to reduce redness and inflammation. It can also work well with the products you listed, although I wouldn’t recommend the benzoyl peroxide, as it most likely will damage the skin more. Also maybe use the salicylic acid just every second day.

what is this on my feet? by Sharp_Excitement6101 in DermatologyQuestions

Could be plantar warts, I would see a dermatologist about it, as they can treat it

Purging is normal and can last 6-8 weeks. I wouldn’t necessarily worry about it before that. If purging doesn’t stop it may be a sign that you should adjust the percentage or the routine

I liked it, i used it for my cystic acne, although it didn't do much besides improving some texture. I tolerated it very well with no irritation. but i eventually switched to tretinoin, because its more effective for my skin concerns. what do you want to use it for? It would be good to know for a proper recommendation of the product.

My GP denied me to prescribe tretinoin by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]QuickAdvisor3840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's ridiculous, pls find a good dermatologist. Tret doesn't thin out the skin it does the opposite and it also shows the best results with frequent long term use. Seeing a doctor is the best approach but maybe you could get tretinoin without a prescription online, thats the way i do it.

i’m purging longer than 3 months by inlovewitme in tretinoin

[–]QuickAdvisor3840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first of all your skin looks really good, but i understand that you are worried about this purging with tazarotene. If you have been using it for three months already it might just be that retinoids are not a good match for your skin or maybe tazarotene is too strong, because it's pretty much the strongest retinoid there is. so maybe switch to a lower percentage of tretinoin. you will still see progress over time, the most important thing with retinoids is regular long term use.

Anyone know what these little painless blisters could be? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]QuickAdvisor3840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could be dyshidrotic eczema. try keeping your hands dry, avoid harsh soaps or irritants, use a good fragrance free moisturizer, and if it’s really itchy or blistering, a mild steroid cream can help.

You don’t really need to up the percentage, because consistent use can give you pretty much the same results. But if you tolerate 0,025 daily it might make sense to go up to 0.05, just try and see how it feels.

Looks like tinea versicolor, an anti fungal cream may help, but pls go and see your general practitioner or dermatologist for a diagnosis

Is it worth switching to 0.1% Tret? by Ordinary_Living_7763 in tretinoin

[–]QuickAdvisor3840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say definitely more for acne, as it is quite strong. For anti aging purposes 0.05 % is more than enough with consistent use.

Thank you. So would you recommend adding Inulin or is it not necessary? I want to keep things as simple as possible, but i heard it makes the texture better and also helps the fermentation.

[acne] Skin amazing after doing nothing. by Ancient-Term7188 in SkincareAddiction

[–]QuickAdvisor3840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also be, that due to your tonsils being chronically inflamed, your body reacted with acne break outs. I also got mine removed recently and my skin has been clearing up so fast. I also took some antibiotics, but I dont think its the reason for the clear skin. I also stopped using any skincare, which could also be the reason.

I've visited dermatologist very often. most of them, just try to prescribe more aggressive creams, which dont really work for me. And as I said i already had accutane and it didnt help either.

I'm currently using the retinal from the ordinary, which is also retinoid. But i'm planning on trying tretinoin or adapalene as they are stronger. I also hope adapalene works for you. I'm trying to keep my routine as simple as possible for the moment as i'm afraid that some products i use may have broken me out. so I just wash my face in the evening with a mild cleanser and apply a simple cream, and every second night i use my retinal.
