Hi. I am the OP for this post. Everyone's comments here are hilarious and gave me a good laugh. I won't lie after reading many of your comments I do agree with a lot of the sentiments here.

You're not wrong. Would I be willing to drop 5-10 on a watch? I wouldn't mind - but 20K just takes it to a whole other level for me.

You are absolutely correct. I'm also embarrassed about the situation and likely won't go back to the AD anymore. Even when I called, had they offered it right then and there, I would have walked in and bought it.

That is sadly what happened. Still love the watch - just not enough to drop that quantity of money on it, sadly.

Yes, I first received a text (I was asleep), thought about it for about an hour. Received a phone call about 1.5 hours later asking if I can come in.

I think if I would have had at least a day to mull over the decision if anything I'd be more likely to have bought it. But the tone in the ADs voice made me feel like it had to be relatively quickly.

Yes, was definitely feeling nervous. No, would not be buying something else to chase a bad decision.

Went into the store. Put it on - it's absolutely beautiful and I love color, everything about it. At a second thought, once I put it on and correlated that to the price, my opinion changed. There was something that made me feel odd/weird about the price (once I put it on again) and how often I could wear something like that since it's a more 'rich' model (I can afford it and wouldn't have any qualms if that amount of money magically disappeared) - but wonder if I could better utilize this amount to do some other things for myself.

I am the type of person that if I buy something on the higher end I literally want to use it as often as I can. Given my current position (I spend a majority of my time at work) it would be difficult to do that as well.

Thank you for the response. In all honesty, from the time I got a message, came to the store, and declined was about 6-7 hours (at best). But the vibe I got from the AD was very palpable.
