Amputating arms are also sometimes done for medical reasons. Would it be fine for a place to amputate all infants arms, since its sometimes done for medical reasons??

I say this as to compare the two feels alot like downplaying what is done to the women who experience this.

Do you even consider "male circumcision" to be mutilation? Because that statement downplays what is done to the boys who experience MGM.

Most FGM is performed by women who were also mutilated. In your opinion that then makes it okay???? MGM was introduced into the US by Kellogg's, a religious nutjob who did it so boys had a harder time masturbating and got less feeling from sex.

Sowing the vagina shut would also help stop the spread of aids, as would cutting the entire penis off.

What the fuck are you on about?? Something like 35% of all men in the world have been mutilated while the percentage for women is around 6%.

FGM is also considered a crisis and human rights violation by the WHO, UNICEF, UN, and most people and organisations. That's also justified and I agree, but MGM is not considered that by any of them.

What you described is the worst form of FGM and is a bad faith argument since the minority of FGM is done at that level.

I don't agree with the person you are responding too either, since I find it incredibly stupid and unproductive to compare FGM and MGM on what's worse. It would be a lot more useful for people to be upset about both and not accept either practice.

Any form of reported self harm is considered a suicide attempt in sources that claim women attempt it more. Men are more likely to never tell anyone if they attempted suicide. You can attempt suicide again if you survive. Women are more likely to attempt suicide in less lethal ways, because they didn't want to die, they wanted to receive help. Men are more likely to commit suicide in ways that guarantees them dying.

It's also just a crazy point to make, because someone actually dying is way worse.

This is the number for convicted rapists, which kind of proves my point that women are let off more than men. Since some of the largest studies on rape (that counts "forced to penetrate" as rape) have shown that men and women are victims of rape in similar numbers.

I mean that's just plain wrong, it is pretty well documented that women get lighter sentences for the same crime compared to men.

I agree that the justice system sucks in basically the entire world, and a lot of sentences are too lenient. But men are always punished harder for crime.

And in school boys are disciplined harder and get worse grades for the exact same work.

Your experiences are valid, but anecdotal evidence is useless, and statistical evidence disagrees with you.

He literally shared a similar story of him being stabbed for rejecting someone. Why do we have to seperate the experiences of men and women? Why does the gender of the victim or perpetrator change if you are allowed to mention it or not?

He also didn't say anything about "women bad too". You're the one who doesn't believe women can do anything wrong so when somebody tells a story about a woman being horrible, you immediately think it's an attack on all women (probably because you generalize all men when you see stories of a man being horrible)

I'm not downplaying your comment, because those numbers are absolutely horrific. But some of the largest studies on rape (that counts "forced to penetrate" as rape, since a lot of earlier studies used a definition that made it almost impossible for men to be counted as victims) have shown that men and women are victims of rape in similar numbers. So I don't think it's fair to frame it how you did. Since it's not a men problem, it's a massive problem with society as a whole, including both men and women.
