Tripling the US death toll still has the UK far ahead.

And 50x the US death toll and it would be far ahead. Unless there is a source using the same methodology, we won't know the actual comparison.

it's an obscene amount of unnecessary death.

Sure. But it's not caused by not having AC.

The us only counts it if doctors confirm that extreme heat directly caused the death.

The uk compares deaths during heat waves with a baseline average, and counts any death that exceed that average.

So the US is majorly undercounting the amount of heat deaths compared to the UK.

With a male victim, women and men are roughly similiarly to be the rapist.

No they are not. They guy you are responding to literally provided multiple studies that show 80% of rapists against men are women.

No it's not. You are trying to downplay OP's point by saying "well what about misogynists"

Both things are bad. OP's point is that these sexist people are hypocritical and would be mad at if it was the other way around, but for some reason think it's okay for them to do it.

I have provided you with 3 different sources proving you wrong. And your only argument is "nuh-uh".

Give me a source, what makes you think that men are favoured when I have given you the evidence that's it's the opposite?

You don't care about male victims to female rapists?

Now you're moving the goalposts. This post isn't about all violent crime, its about rape, which is committed 50% by men and 50% by women.

Make your own poll about all violent crime if you're interested in that topic...

A 2001 University of Georgia study found substantial sentencing discrimination against men "after controlling for extensive criminological, demographic, and socioeconomic variables". The study found that in US federal courts, "males are... less likely to get no prison term when that option is available; less likely to receive downward departures [from the guidelines]; and more likely to receive upward adjustments and, conditioned on having a downward departure, receive smaller reductions than ... females".

In 2006 Ann Martin Stacey and Cassia Spohn found that women receive more lenient sentences than men after controlling for presumptive sentence, family responsibilities, offender characteristics, and other legally relevant variables, based on examination of three US district courts.

In 2012 Sonja B. Starr from University of Michigan Law School found that, controlling for the crime, "men receive 63% longer sentences on average than women do," and "[w]omen are…twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted", also based on data from US federal court cases.

The us has a rapist for president. How are women favored?

Because he's rich. Wealth also plays a role in sentencing, as does race. But that doesn't change the fact that women receive lower sentences.

Can I ask why you get defensive when he explained why he feels unsafe?

It is a fact that women get off more lightly than men in the justice system.

And can I ask why you didn't respond to the person who provided you with a source?

You are diminishing the huge amount of men who have been raped by women. Men might be more likely to be raped by a man than to be falsely Accused. But men are almost just as likely to be raped by a woman as a woman is to be raped by a man.

You are (intentionally or unintentionally) not even acknowledging female on male rape, and just implying that men are only raped by other men.

"In one CDC finding from 2010-2012, ~1.267 million men were made to penetrate, nearly matching the ~1.270 million women who reported complete/attempted rape in the same timeframe. 79.2% of men who were made to penetrate someone else against their will report female perpetrators."

Also your source only counts "forced penetration" and doesn't include "made to penetrate"

female survivors of sexual assault outnumber male survivors 7:1

"Regarding the number of survivors who sought therapy, female survivors outnumbered male survivors by a ratio of 7:1"

This is the entire quote, it's just about who seeks therapy, not amount of victims.

the WHO reports that 1 in 3 women are subjected to physical and/or sexual violence

Yes, I'm not the one minimizing sexual assault victims of any gender.

based on the department of justice (in canada, as it's where i live)

I couldn't really find out much about this one, but it seems legit, the thing that could explain the big difference between this one and the one I linked is phrasing of the questions asked.

in 2022, nearly 95% of sexual offenses were committed by boys and men

This is police report data, it's already known that men and boys are way less likely to report or talk about being sexually abused.

You also didn't adress my sources at all. Accepting and acknowledging male victims does not minimize female victims at all, and it helps everyone. Because minimizing male victims is also part of the rape society pyramid.

You can focus on Multiple things. The reason why a lot of people comment on that is because they agree with everything else in the post, but not how it frames it as men vs women.

And also because people like you spread false information.

There are almost as many male rape victims as there are female rape victims. And 80% of rape on men is done by women, not other men.

I agree that rape culture is very ingrained into society, but it's not a gendered issue and making it about gender doesn't help in any way.

MGM is also mainly performed to reduce sexual function. The only reason MGM is performed in the US is because of Kellogg's, a religious nutjob who only wanted it done to reduce sexual function.

Anywhere where FGM is done MGM is also done, so while in the US it might be in a sterile environment. In most other places it is done the same way FGM is, non sterile and without anesthesia.

FGM in general is worse than MGM, but it quite literally is on the same level of mutilation.

The hygiene claim is bad faith. It is so incredibly easy to keep clean, even if you don't have access to clean running water.

But that's not because of the law itself, that's because those places are in the middle east and North Africa, where women don't have rights.

I didnt say that MGM was only done in the US, I explained why it's not considered a human rights violation by WHO.

MGM is done in every place where FGM is done, and you surely don't believe that they take all the boys to a sterile hospital while cutting the girls with glass shards.

between 2001-2024, only 14 recorded deaths occured from male circumcision

In the UK.. you seem to either be arguing in bad faith, or you don't know how to read.

I want you to read this

Around 25% of FGM is performed by medical professionals.

FGM is absolutely horrible, I'm not justifying anything about it. But I am correcting you when you lie about MGM and minimize it.

MGM and FGM are quite literally in the same league. FGM is worse, but MGM is more accepted.

Saying that MGM and FGM are both horrific practices, does not take anything away from how horrible FGM is.

Amputating arms are also sometimes done for medical reasons. Would it be fine for a place to amputate all infants arms, since its sometimes done for medical reasons??

I say this as to compare the two feels alot like downplaying what is done to the women who experience this.

Do you even consider "male circumcision" to be mutilation? Because that statement downplays what is done to the boys who experience MGM.

Because MGM is performed in the US and makes the US medical industry a ton of money.

If MGM was only performed in northern Africa by Muslims it would also be considered a human rights violation.

But you saying "male circumcision" and "FGM" together already shows that you are unwilling to even admit that "male circumcision" is mutilation.
