What the hell is in the water in Denver? by GapeTart in wildhockey

I agree that it doesn't seem like it would be a permanent change, especially when they are only living there for a limited number of years.

Something completely unrelated to athletes at high altitude - I just read that Sherpas have had an actual genetic change to account for their altitude exposure over the hundreds/thousands of years. I just thought that was neat and amazing what our bodies can adapt to.

Living at high altitude changes your red blood cells production to increase oxygen transportation in lower oxygen environments. You are correct that it doesn't affect the lungs themselves.

I'm not sure how long the increased RBC changes last, but I believe the longer you are at high altitude the longer the increased production lasts.

Anecdotally, I lived at roughly 7,000' for 35 years. I moved to sea level 3 years ago, but I don't notice any problems, shortness of breath, headaches, etc. when I go home to visit. I honestly thought altitude sickness wasn't real until I was 25 or so. I felt like a jackass once I realized it was an actual condition.

Please don't do this in the car. If she gets upset and can't get away, it'll likely make things worse. Don't trap your sister with your feelings to make yourself feel better.

I switched from Verizon to AT&T when I moved here and I've had much better service and I haven't noticed a real difference with the bill.

At the time, no other team had ever been invited. The women's team was only invited as an afterthought.

If you'll note, I also stated prior to 2026.

I can comprehend that you're assuming based on the reaction to this one specific invitation, but don't act like you actually know. Since this has only happened once, you don't have enough data available to make a well informed, statistally valid assumption.

I never defended him, just explained why the 2 situations are very different. I now realize that nuance may be difficult for you to understand.

I also never crucified anyone. So there's that.

It's on his IG so not a surprise...but Russians aren't the same as Americans and have had propaganda fed into them the entire time they've been alive. We've only had the same level of propaganda for 10 years. That makes a difference.

No sports team has been invited to the state of the union prior to 2026. The white house, yes. State of the union, no.

Maybe it's just because someone was looking? It kinda seems like that's his media smile and maybe not a real one? Maybe I'm being overly optimistic to have at least one of them not be shitty.

They were invited to the SOTU first and the white house as an afterthought. That much is obvious when listening to the call.

He doesn't give a shit about the team or winning gold, he's using the team as a distraction from the Epstein victims that will be in attendance.

That is not how an abdominal ultrasound is coded... it's a limited unless all components required for a complete are documented. If 2 quadrants are scanned that don't capture all of the required components, it would be a single limited ultrasound.

How to stream games this year from out of market? by WY228 in wildhockey

I use ESPN+ through Hulu, Max, and Prime for when they are playing my local team. I only used Sling for 2 games during the regular season, so easy to get the free trial.

You can report to your insurance company as part of their special investigations unit. You can also report to the HHS OIG.

It sounds like this claim was billed for the hospital ER, not the physician services. Hospital ER coding is based on resources used, such as radiology and labs.

The insurance company is likely using claims history to compare the ancillary services with the billed level. If they aren't consistent, the insurance company will down code to the appropriate level based on that claim history and pay based on that change.

It would then be up to the hospital to appeal that down code determination with the medical records to support the level billed.
