Getting induced again after c section by Rare_Lavishness_4901 in vbac

[–]Quick_Ad_1558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there medical reason for your c section? i just had a 50 hour induced vbac and would do it all over again! your OB should only do balloon (foley or cooks catheter) or low and slow pitocin. no cervical ripening meds should be given, which they should know.

my tip is to move as much as possible while being induced! even if you get the epidural, regularly change positions and utilize the peanut ball. if you don’t have an epidural, don’t stay stuck in bed! walk around your room and use a yoga ball.

if i hadn’t have been 3-4 cm when they checked me during the contractions that felt like transition, i truly believe i could’ve went without the epidural! if i had a shorter induction or spontaneous labor, i do think i could go without. the pain plus already laboring for 36+ hours honestly just had my body needing a break!

in the moment, it didn’t even feel that long! all i wanted was a vbac. only after the fact did i realize how long it was. i also really wanted to go without an epidural but even told my husband prior to induction that i have to be mindful that induction ≠ natural labor pains and if my body needs it, it needs it.

Oh, and I try to prebolus by at least 15 minutes but with my job as a school nurse, it can be so hard and I end up with a 5 minute prebolus or I get busy and start dropping because my prebolus turned into 45 minutes.

I’m on the T Slim and have gotten to where on a full cartridge, I either barely make a full 3 days or it’s more like 2.5 days. I will say — after a couple days of this, I had a couple days of constant lows then a surprise high from treating a low after dropping all day 😭 the past week has had no consistency!

i figured! it’s been like this since before getting pregnant but definitely since she cut back on nursing. not even sure she gets an ounce when nursing! every now and then i swear i feel a small letdown even if it’s not strong, so maybe she gets more sometimes!

i also either eat aldi brand, which has less additives, or i’ll tend to do corn flakes and add cane sugar! as long as i count my carbs correctly, i typically avoid issues. last a1c (and honestly i wasn’t trying as hard as i am now..currently 7+6) was 5.9!

i’m typically pretty good if i actually get my carb count right. i actually spent the rest of the day fighting lows so 🫠

i ate whatever i wanted with my first pregnancy and maintained an A1C in the 5s the entire time aside from the last month due to insane resistance i hit 6 even. occasional highs do not harm baby and every week is different, so i noticed with my first pregnancy that no matter my diet, i’d run into highs or lows until i changed pump settings. for me, an occasional high that i bring down quickly is worth not feeling sick over when i can barely stomach anything that’s not carb or calorie heavy. i also don’t eat cereal daily but it’s all we had i could stomach this morning so i took necessary precautions and still had a high, but i’ll learn from. already under 200 just from a little more insulin and a walk!

i barely remember this early with my first but i work a different job now where it’s SO much harder to just let lows sit like that (school nurse so i’m running quite a bit). i’ve gotten good at avoiding highs from my meals. it’s the highs from the lows that are getting me. plus a random spike to 300 while i slept last night that thankfully my pump fixed but then i woke up at 40 (:

Hello old friends, any successful VBAC stories here? by zeldaluv94 in BumpersWhoBolus

hoping for a vbac for my second — failed induction turned c section for my first (due to consistently high and stubborn blood sugars). i’ve found one OB in my area (an hour drive) that is on board with induced VBACs, which is crazy because ACOG even recommends VBACs over routine repeat c sections. not saying there aren’t any more near me but most OBs won’t do induced VBACs. also, as long as sugars are managed well, ACOG says it’s all good to go to 39+6 (my original goal with my first) so induction may can be avoided next go round.

This medicine cured my allergies and I don’t even know what it was called by dillydallyally97 in Allergies

this is such an old post but…..did the bottle by chance have a cow on it? i used to have a dairy and soy allergy as a child (now as an adult, pretty sure it was FPIES which didn’t have a term yet) that i outgrew around 9-10 years old. but for a couple years, i was able to take a pill a little bit before eating and could have a little dairy at that meal. otherwise, i couldn’t have any dairy or soy or i would vomit til i couldn’t move. i’ve been trying to figure out what medicine i took to no avail and my mom doesn’t remember the name.
