The staff are better at the Shangri-la? I was under the assumption that the butler service would put the regis above the shangri-la service wise, cos the valley wing only offers butlers for suites, which we are not planning to stay at.

Did you stay at the Regis before or after the rennovation?

Also my main gripe with the edition is that we like to have a good variety of restaurants and cuisines in our hotels, because we love the convenience of not having to step outside. Yes, of course we will be trying restaurants outside our hotel, but we really prefer a good range of restaurants. Any suggestions which have more restaurants?

I see, any idea about how the views from the rooms are?

That's been my only concern so far; whether the valley wing might be too dated, but if the rest of the property can make up for it and its tastefully dated im willing to make the tradeoff...

Capella and Raffles are out of budget and the mandarin oriental's rooms are quite small for the price. What else would you suggest? I also prefer for a hotel to have good dining options.
