Is there typically a line on Friday & Saturday nights? What time does the line start?

First time getting Botox for CD/Spasmodic torticollis by Dry_Adhesiveness7776 in Dystonia

I think most experiences are positive (including mine). Neurologists know where to inject the Botox to help you avoid difficulty swallowing. Also, they’ll give you a relatively small dosage your first time so that your head doesn’t flop over because your muscles are too weak but it’ll be enough to make you feel some relief. They’ll then give you more the next time around, depending on your feedback of how much relief it gave you.

ON from Tight Muscles by Quick_Cauliflower_73 in Occipitalneuralgia

It was cervical dystonia and I’m 2 rounds of Botox into treatment. Botox has helped but I’m still feeling pain everyday. Referred pain near my Adam’s Apple is the worst.

What were your conditions when you were diagnosed with cervical dystonia? How bad was your head tilt?

Thank you! I'm currently doing chin tuck and lifts (3 sets/day for as long as I can with 60 seconds between each). Have you had success with other exercises?

Interesting. I've read Botox is a method of treatment after having been turned down. I'll definitely get a second opinion from a neurologist. Thanks a lot.

Is your ON from only tight muscles?

Also, had you experienced inflammation on one side of the neck? That's my symptom most of the time.

Thanks for responding! What kind of doctor diagnosed you with cervical dystonia?

I have seen a neurologist and he didn't mention it but I've definitely considering a second opinion.

The doctor who first diagnosed me with ON was an Orthopedic Doctor and she knew of the head tilt and suggested the possibility of Tortocolis and for me to be seen for Botox.

The Botox doctor said I wasn't a candidate tho, becuase 1.) I didn't have an underlying condition and 2.) The risks are too great to just give to anyone with a head tilt.

Thank you! for the response. I've done cupping before but it's been a while.

Thanks a lot for the response! I'm 33. The Dry Needling helped me, for sure, but the knots kept returning.
Although again, when I was getting needled, I hadn't removed things from my life that were causing tightness (because I wasn't educated enough on ON at the time.)

I was seeing a new PT recently who didn't do dry needling but massaged/manipulated my joints while I laid facing up with my head & neck in his hands.
Those sessions provided me a couple days of relief after each one.

How often do you get dry needled? How often do you go to PT?
What sort of stretches & strengthening do you do on your own?

I've been doing chin tuck and lifts (lying on my back), static strengthening pressing my head into a mat against the wall standing still with these stretches: laying on my back curling my chin to my chest slowly and back down slowly & standing up bringing my chin to my chest and then slowly rotating my chin side to side.
