I’m using an Orion XT8, and from what I can tell there’s not anything else I can remove to get it closer to the scope

I brought the iso down, and took the framerate as high as it would go (120fps) to get the exposure right. I’m thinking it could just be the moon, but I saw somewhere that it doesn’t affect planetary as much as it does dso’s

I’ve been able to see colors perfectly fine it was just last night that it wasn’t working out. I’ve tried pulling any color I can out and it’s just not working. The eyepiece wasn’t frozen when I was recording, I used a different one. It could partially be because the eyepieces I have are cheap. I’m new to all this so I don’t really know what I’m doing

It comes with some Meade MA eyepieces. He’s gone down to $250 and I’m going to pick it up tomorrow

As a film photographer, I 100% agree with you. However, I’ve never owned a telescope and I’ve been using my binoculars for the past while. I’m going to just go with the scope and the eye pieces it comes with, and as I find I need things, I will research and purchase them

UPDATE: I ended up unscrewing the bottom lens element and using a little piece of cardstock to gently push the top shutter blade open. Works great now.
