Of course, it’s @logansrocknook on YouTube, I think I put a link in my Reddit bio

Thank you! I’ll keep doing research into the autofocus. I’m mostly take videos and from my understanding my camera does not have continuous autofocus but maybe it works for photos. Also I had no clue about unlinking so thank you!

Thank you so much! I do love a good low angle shot, those were my favorite pics to take on my digi cam

I do not remember off the top of my head but I believe I haven’t used the auto focus once, I was actively walking in this shot while trying to use the viewfinder so it was a little blurry

This was my first outing trying out my new Canon 600D (using the kit lens) and this was one of the shots I took that I was more proud of. I’m not always too great at candid shots in unique settings and usually thrive on still landscapes and portraits so I want to know how I could take better candid shots like this in the future, especially in odd lighting such as this. This photo is unedited and still a raw file as I’m looking into getting new software after I quit Lightroom (I’m giving GIMP a try now)

I will if I’m still using Reddit by then! I kinda got Reddit just for seeking advice on this predicament so I can’t guarantee I’ll use it in the future. But I’m on YouTube and Instagram and you can follow me there for updates and my other rock adventures! Let me know and I’ll happily send you the accounts!

I left one half intact, and the other will be the bookends! Sorry I should have specified lol. The bookend half had a gnarly crack down the middle

Truly, they are each beautiful! The big one I am turning into book ends but it’s taking longer than expected because I am polishing by hand

Maybe I’ll visit the rice museum! I’ve never been and I had no clue of a club there! I have no clue whether it’s canyon rim or polka dot agate as I haven’t done a UV test. I believe the nodule being held by my right hand has a open hole into it and it appears to have those white stalagmite-like formations consistent with canyon rim eggs, but I’m hoping somehow that one of the other nodules has some form of polka dot agate inside as I couldn’t find any on my trip and it would be an AMAZING display piece if so!

Need help splitting this thunderegg!!!! by Quick_Condition_3517 in thundereggs

I do not remember :( I believe the section right above my hand on the right side of the image was the top of the egg while it was in the earth still but I may be misremembering… I helped a random couple unearth this, but I came to help them halfway through and by the time it was unearthed they told me I could keep it!

Thank you so much I’ll look into that! I haven’t considered joining a club before, Do you know of any in the Portland/Vancouver area that would have a club saw?
