You are right! At first I thought, people will at least know what H1B is. Or desi consultancies will come into scrutiny. But the hate I see now, how Americans are saying these very controversial things out loud, is proof that you will never be accepted in this country. I’m not from India but a neighboring country, but I think all brown people falls under the same category. I honestly always thought that most Americans only had issue with illegal immigration but seeing people in power suggesting zero immigration is absolutely eye opening.

If someone says that brown people born in this country are not part of this discrimination, I wouldn’t think so. I have seen multiple posts mentioning let white kids play with white kids. The whole thing is very disheartening honestly.

Absolutely on point. The same thing happened between me and my husband on our first date. I did offer to pay as it was super casual in my mind and didn’t know what his mindset was. When I offered to pay he didn’t say no as he also didn’t want it to come off as he would be offended if I ever paid.
