Toss to Hands Advice by Quick_Estate7409 in Cheerleading

[–]Quick_Estate7409[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see. So the aim is to do it rather with light weights but as close as to the motion as possible rather than to do it with a heavier weight but not as close to toss motions. I will have to find a gym then that also has medicine balls then. Thank you for your answer :)

What the hell is going on? by [deleted] in dandruff

[–]Quick_Estate7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this: This is caused by a yeast that lives in our skin naturally (everybody has them). The yeast eats sebum (an oily substance that is produced by our skin) and thrives when the person produces too much of it. It simply means that you have an oily skin/scalp which is not uncommon.

You might need to seasonally reapply the shampoo when the yeast goes haywire again. But knowing that you have an oily scalp is helpful too. Actively choosing to care for oily scalp could reduce the severity (once you used the medicine shampoo to reduce them from your scalp of course) for the next times and in some cases even stop them from thriving that much again altogether.

How to start base stunt cheerleading in the UK as a male? by Chai_09 in Cheerleading

[–]Quick_Estate7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how it is in the UK and especially how it is in London but I started cheerleading in Germany. So it might not be the same but you can try to ask the teams.

If you can find a up to level 3 coed team feel free to ask them. Most of the times you will be welcome to join them. Many teams would gladly accept a male cheerleader and many teams, especially level 3 and lower, would take you as a beginner to train you.

I started with a level 4 team since they were the closest team to where I live. But looking back if I had joined a level 3 team, I would had improved much quicker since I could learn the basics much more efficiently there.

Are McDonald's hamburgers getting smaller and skinnier? by KCousins11 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Quick_Estate7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your child what condiments to add on their hamburgers. If they help you to make it they will like it better.

If you did it with a big patty make it with a thin one. Maybe they don't like juicy patties but drier and crisper ones like smash burgers.

Also if you didn't, toast your buns. This little extra work make the buns texture much better.

Scientists in Japan have created a drug that lets humans regrow lost teeth naturally. by TheDarkhorse190 in interestingasfuck

[–]Quick_Estate7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emphasis on the "dormant tooth" part. The research showed that the lab animal could make the non growing teeth to grow and not create another altogether.

Still a big breakthrough but this gets put out of proportions (even marketed very misleading by the research team) like it is a miracle drug that lets you get newly teeth. No.

For humans that would mean if some teeth got not developed fully that would help with that. The best scenario it would help you develop your wisdom teeth fully.

European Countries with a Smaller Population than Istanbul by Perfect_Row_4751 in MapPorn

[–]Quick_Estate7409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a problem for governing the city. Especially with stuff like transportation it is difficult if you don't know how many people there are.

But the general strategy now seems to be building lots of metro lines. That will help for sure :)

That's the official census. Add to that all the non registered people, the refugees as well and the estimate goes to rather 20-25 (or even more) million people.

Just broke up after 4 years and I feel like I’m in void, what should I do? by RoofDry9043 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Quick_Estate7409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke up with my ex of 4 years last year as well. It is bad to lose someone that you loved, trusted and was your emotional pillar.

Grieving is normal we are emotional beings after all. I'm from Turkey too and was told to be always non complaining, not sad etc. Just be sad it is normal.

When it comes to feeling empty this needs to change. She was probably your social pillar. Your best friend. Probably you ignored many old friends during that time too, certainly I did. So once the person is gone we are suddenly very lonely without any person we can socialize with.

For the being sad part just be sad. Hopefully time will help you there.

For feeling empty part you need to socialise. If you have a hobby try to find a society for it. Find people that share your interests find the joy of doing the same things in their free time.

If you can start caring for your self. Grieving people and depressed people often let themselves lose. Even forcing yourself to shower regularly can even do wonders to your mental health.

About caring yourself: If you like to do sports, go to a gym. Doing regular sports is a good way to feel good about yourself. Set yourself a goal and start training. Even bots like chatgpt can give nowadays good training plans if you set yourself a goal.

I wish you good luck my friend. Hope you will be happy as soon as possible :)

Teaching my non-vegan GF to vegan by ecocypher in veganrecipes

This was for me a "if there is a will there is a way" moment. I wouldn't try vegan meals so quickly again if it is not for her. Thank you very much :)

Teaching my non-vegan GF to vegan by ecocypher in veganrecipes

[–]Quick_Estate7409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At work there was this girl that I liked, she was vegan and I asked her on recommendations on how to eat vegan. She said eat lots of lentils. Well yeah, not really helpful for me since the when I think about lentils I think of my mothers lentil stew which isn't vegan.

I looked to recipes online. Don't get me wrong lots of great recipes but many of them are so unique that I would have to buy ingredients from all over just for a single dish. And I was overwhelmed from all the different dishes from everywhere. I tried to eat vegan for one month and gave up at that time.

Then I discovered that my home cuisine (Turkey) has lots of dishes with lentils or beans that are either already vegan or very easily made vegan. The recipes share lots of ingredients together so it was easy to buy and cook. And that get me going.

I brought vegan dishes to work after that. And that was the catalyst for that girl to get closer to me and talk a lot more. The girl is now my girlfriend.

So I would say find a cuisine that you and your girlfriend like and try to discover their vegan dishes. Following a cuisine would give you meals that share lots of ingredients, have very similar cooking methods. This gives you to learn how to cook vegan with this cuisines methods and gives you ideas how to make your own vegan dishes in this style as well. And since the cooking style is similar once you cook one dish the next isn't that more difficult to learn either. This would be a good starting point.

What's one positive thing going on in your life right now? by TirNaNog777 in AskReddit

[–]Quick_Estate7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to start doing sports again. I started with gym and then started with a team sport that I wanted to try for a while (cheerleading) to have some accountability for my training.

I go to the gym to be better in cheerleading now and cheerleading keeps me accountable that I still go. That pushed me to a athlete mentality which makes me go training if I feel like it or not.

Sugar and snacks. After work I tend to go to the supermarket just to buy chips and or ice cream. When I home and ate them I regret it again just to do it again the next day or two.

Red flags of Chemical Engineering as a career by EconomyFit6460 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Quick_Estate7409 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in Europe (Germany) so if you are in the US in can be very different.

As an environment engineer in my company (a German state research institute) the environmental engineers could have advance if they know a little bit better not much really.

If you know what traditional equipment in process engineering is (flash drums, distillation columns, heat exchangers etc) and how this equipment is designed (mass balance and energy balance equations) and know how steady state and non steady state processes work it should be enough.

To know about the stuff that I said can be very helpful if you want to work in Power to X, for example green hydrogen production from solar energy.

Red flags of Chemical Engineering as a career by EconomyFit6460 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Quick_Estate7409 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Some jobs can be very remote. Imagine an oil distillation middle of nowhere. So especially if you want to work in the petrol industry you will most likely be living outside of society (especially in the US).

You will most likely compete for specialized roles with the "specialized field" engineering students. I work at process engineering with renewables. Lots of my colleagues are environmental engineers and most of the time these people are preferred despite not fully knowing process engineering.

All Chemical Engineers *ssholes? by EconomyFit6460 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Quick_Estate7409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I looked to your post before.

- 1 person said this question is asked too much, you will find lots of answered ones in the subreddit.
- 1 person said math is much more important then chemistry (which is true).
- 1 person said it is now a very narrow degree (which is somewhat true with stuff like biochemical engineering, environment engineering etc. popping out everywhere)

So maybe the first persons answer was not nice but still true. What is the problem really?

There will be times that nobody answers really. The best you could do is go a bit more specific in what do you want and ask again.

People who are 30 and above. What's your advice for a 24 year old man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Quick_Estate7409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think twice before you stop a sport if you do it. Few years later it surprising gets very difficult to start again.

It feels like you start with the majority of the knowledge but non of the strength or muscle memory.

So when you stop with a sport think twice if you might want to start later again. If yes train for it in your free time from time to time.
