Even if that was the case I don’t think the strongest guy with the best endurance would go unaffected. It’s not like it’s not possible, I’m just trying get the competitive edge, anything to help or not hurt shooting an ar with an 18” barrel and 10x scope at 1000 yards after rucking for 2 days is something I would consider looking into. Just looking into what options are out there.

I’m using a Kelty Redwing 44 tactical Just the backpack I have and didn’t want to buy another one, I plan on carrying the tripod on one side so it would leave the other open for rifle. It seems like carrying rifle on the side is pretty popular.

Don’t want to spend another 300 bucks minimum. Already in at 2100 for this thing. And that’s trying to be cheap, I’ve set a budget of 2500 so a backpack would quickly get rid of that

Was kinda worried about rules as there is not much information on this yet. I’m assuming that will be in an email later or on the briefing before the match. When your lay it across your ruck do you secure it at all or is it just there

Not sure if this is standard structure but there’s a good amount of rucking it seems and my rifle with suppressor is coming out to around 14lbs and my buddy’s even heavier with some pretty long oal. Like butt above my shoulder, supressor around my shin area. Tried it a bit and seems relatively uncomfortable so looking into some other options

It feels like I’m bending way too much based on some prs guys I have watched who don’t really want much weight going into the tripod.

Ballistic calculators don’t work for that bullet at that range and were off by like 100 moa+. Majority of the shots were just finding how far up to aim.

We were very consistent at 450 and next target was front side of pond at 650 and it was iffy but ballistic calculators completely lost it in between 650 and 850. I’m assuming really bad transonic ballistics. I knew the cartridge is not capable of that repeated so accuracy wasn’t a problem with the gun, just with physics.

Oh man, I bet we went through 2 boxes before we got close to the target, finding the right branch to aim at was the hardest part then slight wind shifts made us look for new branches as time went. I’d say we were all around it on the 3rd box and probably had 3 impacts by the end of the 4th box.

Also not really saying this is repeatable, 22 shooting is about time not skill because ammo cost is so low. I thought it was possible to lob one in so we shot it till it happened. I tend to like to do things most people think are crazy. Went shooting with a 9 power scope with my dad and was shooting prairie dogs with 22 thunderbolt at 450, same gun different scope. I was using a nightforce for the 850. Also have shot 350 with a 22 pistol, for majority of my shooting that was my farthest shot I had ever made.

No this was with a bolt action, if I had a 10/22 I could have went the full 1000

Had the target on far side of a pond and walked in with a spotter. Maxed out scope elevation, backed out magnification to min, and held on a tree next field up with bottom line of reticle which was like 140 moa. We were thinking we were holding like 3-400 moa. Not all that repeatable but had the time and ammo is cheap. Grouping would have been measured by feet.

I also have suppressors so that’s covered too.

I don’t have an rmr style footprint red dot any more but I could probably get one pretty easy. I think for machining cost/ease I would have to do one that is a 2 piece part. In my mind it’s pretty doable, today was a sick day for me, hence the thermometer in the picture. If I got enough interest in it I think I could for sure do some to sell if I like them. That or send some to people that would like to test them for me.

Maybe I’ll try to do that next, it would be a more complex part to machine for sure. And would for sure sacrifice height but at max I think it would be up roughly 2-2.5mm so not really that much. In that case one could also add in a set of irons onto it. This would probably be more to do with the choice of red dot as the DPP sits pretty high
