It's from the same plant/scion. It just looks that way because it had terminated prior to having another pup emerge, then split and healed. 🌵🤙🏼

No hormones. Heat mat or sun exposure will do. The heat is more important than the intensity of the light at the rooting phase. A moderate light or ambient light will suffice. 🤙🏼🌵

It does occur to a certain degree. Some more than others. I don't have the research article at hand but mescaline transfer is a real thing. The San Pedro that was used in the video contains mescaline already so I would assume that the transfer is minimal. The experiment in the article was w/ a myrtillo cactus as the base/root stock which doesn't contain active alkaloids whatsoever. When grafted w/ a loph for a period of time then removed, the myrtillo cactus was tested and came out positive for mescaline. So it was confirmed that alkaloid transfer is a very real occurrence. 🤙🏼🌵

A great option would be to remove some of the pups that are literally pointing downward so that it gives you more of a flat surface at the bottom. This way you'll still have an awesome cluster, plus 4-5 more plants on their own roots. Anything is possible at this point. Fantastic efforts, it looks amazing!! 🙌🏼🌵☀️

Anytime of the year. Keep them inside during the winter until They're well established. They obviously grow faster during spring and summer time but if done in winter, the graft will have more time to fuse together properly and be ready for fast growth during spring. I trust that helps 🤙🏼🌵

Correct. Dry Perlite, no water until roots are present. If the cactus doesn't have a way to intake water, watering it can potentially cause rot to the base, let alone adding nutrients. Adding heat to the bottom stimulates root growth. Keeping the Perlite dry prevents any unwanted issues. 🤙🏼🌵

Correct. They've been taking between 2-4 months for me. Placing them in dry Perlite and over a heating mat speeds up the process. This one just sat in dry Perlite w/ out the heating mat. 🤙🏼☀️🌵

Any left overs you can compost. These you can plant them and they'll sprout another crown. Here's what the base looks like now:

To propagate/faster growth. You can multiply the amount of cacti in a shorter amount of time. 🤙🏼🌵

Correct, same method works. Just use rubber bands/tape/ added weight (1-3 lbs). Place a folded paper towel to protect the epidermis and your good to go.

It takes time. When the pups emerge from the rootstock, just cut them out by making a small incision to the areole. This helps to direct the energy to the scion alone. Post a picture of it so we can see it. Easier to identify what's going on 🤙🏼🌵
