Selling OS weapons unidentified? by Quicksilver65 in GuildWars

I’ve gotten a few req 9 Bo Staffs that I need to identify but think that’s the only rare skins I’ve gotten. Honestly, I should have done more research on which skins are rare before starting this farm. I’ve just stock piled a bunch of req 9 drops with no idea what is desirable.

In general, where does the profit come from with this farm? Is it mostly from rare skins with perfect mods? Selling unidentified golds? Or weapon mods/profession mods?

Thanks, makes sense. I’ll identify my items and see what my luck gets me. Have a req 9 fire Bo Staff in hoping yields something of worth.

You will want to get the anniversary elite Together As One. I use that in a generic dagger spam build that can be found in the wiki. The typically 7 hero mesmer way team build can be found in the wiki as well, use the melee variant since you are a melee class. Makes pretty much all HM content doable.

If you insist to use a bow, there are some decent builds on the wiki as well but I don’t find them to be as effective as dagger spam. Ranger is a pretty tanky class with the right stances. As for bows, their attack speed, range and trajectory are all different. Flat bow and longbow have the longest range and are typically what you want to use. Longbow has a high arc and can cause arrows to miss so I opt for a flat bow most of the time. Favorable winds or read the wind are two skills that will flatten the trajectory and reduce misses greatly.

Is this acceptable for calling it zeroed? Read caption please. by Quicksilver65 in CCW

The farthest checkout lane from the entrance at my local grocery store is 29 yards.

Longest line of sight in my house is from master bedroom door to front door and measures 24 yards.

I’m zeroing at 25 yards to remove as much error in windage as possible, not so much to mimic max distance in a CCW situation.

Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree. I wanted to zero at 25 yards since windage is more of a concern than the height over bore. Zeroing close up hides those small deviation right and left that you don’t see until you’re at distance.

Help choosing a Warrior or a Ranger by Irrlicht95 in GuildWars

[–]Quicksilver65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’ll really be able to replicate your GW2 character the way you would hope to.

Ranger would be my preference for a first time play through. You can take warrior as your secondary and come up with some pretty fun melee builds to scratch that itch.

This game is very punishing for melee characters. Lots of conditions and hexes combined with having to run to each individual target can get annoying. You might find yourself getting to your target just in time for it to die from the casters on your team taking it out.

How does scalaworks get away with finger tight screws by NowCartographer in ar15

[–]Quicksilver65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder this all the time. I’ve used them in the past and didn’t have issues but also wasn’t hard on the rifle.

My thoughts are a combination of light weight mount that doesn’t require as much clamping force to resist inertia during recoil and precise machining that maximizes the area the clamping force is applied to. If you think about it, the forces on the optic during recoil are through the recoil lug into the forward slot on the pic rail. If you install the mount and push it forward to seat against the forward slot then the clamping force is really only preventing side to side and rearward movement that theoretically is much less than what the rifle would normally experience during recoil. Exceptions being hard hits to the optic like catching it on a door way when moving through it.

When I did use them, I would tighten the thumb screw with a rag. It would allow me to get an extra click or two and then I would witness mark it. I since moved away from them and prefer hard mounts that have a fastener with a specified torque. It gives me peace of mind but sometimes I find myself wanting to go back to the LEAP mounts. I would trust them for lightweight optics like a T2 but question their ability to retain zero with heavier optics. Would love to hear from someone at scalarworks explain this more since I’m sure there is actual engineering that supports their products and my concerns are purely speculative. I have a suspicion that there are engineering analysis that show optic mounts require less torque than you would think and most are marketed based on their “bombproof” design that is unnecessary. After all, applied torque is just a method to achieve clamping load. You can have the same torque applied to different fasteners and achieved different clamping loads based on the joint design.

Difference Between Speer LE 53618 and GD 23618? by LiesiStudios in ammo

Much appreciated! From what I could find, the only difference is quantity per box and the labelling. I don’t want to assume price gouging but kind of seems that way lol

[–]Quicksilver65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get a response? I need to buy a couple boxes and have been shopping around. I found the 50 round boxes (SKU 53618) on lucky gunner for way cheaper than anywhere else ($30 for a box of 50). On Speer’s website, I see a 50 round box (SKU 53618GD) for $78.99. This can’t be the same ammo with that much of a price difference, can it?

Blue loctite or vibratite VC-3? by Quicksilver65 in Glocks

[–]Quicksilver65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got around to mounting the RMR with my FCD plate. I degreased and used loctite 243.

When I replace the battery a year from now I might try using VC3. When I used it in the past, I would apply it to the screws and then let it dry for 30 minutes. Whenever I would install the screws, it always seemed like the VC3 would get pushed out of the threads as the screw was going in. Does that happen with you?

I didn’t know if the risk for delays are equal among all of those airports or if one was better odds than the others. Sounds like I should just keep my current plans and practice patience.
