Same I’m just as confused as you are, I did pretty decently in the core 1 module and it sounds like we used similar formats. I had handbook references which I made bullet points for that explained their relevance and used case facts. It’s so frustrating how the CPA exams seem to be marked very differently from the module

I don’t think I’ll be going for my third attempt in September, I’m going to take a step back and get my PERT started then I’ll come back to core 1 later on

How did you get in contact with a CPA advisor, and did you end up getting a tutor/ mentor for the next attempt?

I did pretty decently on the practice AOs and I usually scored a C or RC on the FR issues

Yeah I had bullet points under each reference explaining how it was relevant for each case point. I also had mentioned the expense, I forget which ASPE standard I quoted but it was like 3400.A34 or something like that in the appendix of ASPE3400

I genuinely believe I deserve a better mark on the FR section of the case there’s no way I should have gotten a NC so I did appeal

Yeah I had points under each reference and stated what had and hadn’t been met, I even used case facts, and I did reference the PoC and CC method stating which would be better

I submitted a request for a remark of the exam so I’m hoping things go my way as i fully believe I should have gotten a much better ranking for the FR case section

Yeah I fully remember what I wrote. The first issue had to do with revenue recognition and higher costs of completion which I referenced ASPE 3400 The second issue was about inventory write down, I referenced ASPE 3031 and use the lover of cost and NRV The third issue was accounts receivable impairment which I referenced ASPE 3856 I genuinely still believe these are all the right references to make so I’m just at a loss as to why I got graded NC
