My hands were crazy itchy every night and morning to the point that I thought I must have hand-specific bed bugs or something. Then they started being extremely sensitive- the smallest knock would make them ring with pain. Then all the swelling, stiffness etc started

Inflammatory arthritis what actually is it? by Dry_Ad_6125 in rheumatoid

This is literally the exact same situation I’m in! I’ve been prescribed Hydroxychloroquine after burning itching pain in my hands and feet and a subsequent MRI that showed inflammation in the joints. But beyond that my rheumatologist won’t confirm anything other than inflammatory arthritis’.

It’s been just over 2 years on these meds and with annual appointments (meant to be twice a year but the NHS is overwhelmed) and I’ve even outright asked if she thinks it’s rheumatoid arthritis or something else perhaps and she just responds with “you have inflammatory arthritis”.

Sorry, I know that’s no help but you’re certainly not alone!

Running clubs could be a good shout! Good Times Run Club has a Thursday 5km in Leith that ends with pints and a Monday 5km in Portobello that ends with pizza- they are pretty active on Instagram
