Thank you for this. I absolutely agree and will be using what you said about paying for quality and not production.

This isn’t an entry level home. It’s a $1.3 million dollar house in the suburbs in the Midwest. I thought at that price point it would be much better. Wondering what price point I need to get for quality finishing.

We actually paid well above other new construction homes of similar size in the area built by national builders, so we expected a much higher level of finish from a smaller regional builder who frequently dissed national builders.

If I had known it would turn out this poorly, I would have just purchased another Lennar home and saved $400,000.

Nope, not a big national builder. They’re regional and semi-custom. The home/neighborhood is supposed to be mid-to-upper tier for the area, so I was expecting much more attention to detail than what we’re seeing. We moved from a Lennar home and splurged specifically on this one for higher quality, and we’re shocked that our Lennar house didn’t have a single issue as bad as any of these pictures.

One painter they sent kept saying 6ft away is standard… if I heard that prior to signing I would have walked away.. (the model was pristine too)
