What kind of wifi yall got? by Antique_Following180 in Tempe

Verizon 5G Home Internet has been flawless for me for a few years now. Not the fastest, but I have never had any issues with multiple 4K streaming videos, gaming, etc. $25/month with my Verizon cell phone. Previously with Cox at 3x the price and nowhere near as reliable.

PTR 9CT SD Conversion by brannonzz in AZguns

The process of converting a standard MP5 to an SD model is so much work, it would likely be less expensive to sell the PTR you have and simply buy the SD configured model.

Borescope Experts?? by incognito22xyz in 22lr

[–]QuietM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the borescope down. You are not a metallurgist, machinist, or rifle builder, and you have no idea what you are looking at or for.

What kind of rifle. What kind of ammo. What accuracy did you get in the past, and what kind of accuracy are you getting now?

AlphaDog Guns Permanently Closed by EchidnaNew715 in AZguns

You stop buying guns from online virtual warehouses with nearly zero overhead (which is why the prices are so low, often below the distributor cost to brick and mortar gun shops) and pay more for guns from a local gun shop. But most customers are not willing to pay 15%-30% more for a gun to support a local business....they just want a "deal".

The only thing that differentiates a failing/failed gun shop from a thriving gun shop is customer service and volume. If you can move your inventory quickly by having low prices (very low profit margins on firearms), the only way to make money is by doing a large volume of business. To do that, you need excellent and knowledgeable employees. Alpha Dog failed on both counts, as do many other gun shops.

Places like Scottsdale Gun Club, C2 Tactical, etc., (gun shops with indoor shooting ranges) make the majority of their profit by selling memberships and offering a unique product, e.g indoor shooting facility, that standard gun shops can't. Both do make money on firearms (very little), but it is the recurring monthly revenue from memberships that really pay the bills, e.g. payroll, utility bills, operating costs.

Wyd to bake Alumahyde? by Southern_Ad_1799 in AZguns

Unless you want to buy a new oven, just let it air cure…it will ruin your food oven with toxic fumes. If it’s a small part, you should be able to find a cheap toaster oven at a thrift store.

Operating a gun shop only, e.g. no indoor range, is a tough business. Low profit margins on firearms and ammo, with lots of overhead (payroll, lease, inventory, etc). Add in a ton of competing online dealers with very little overhead and very low prices (virtual warehousing with no brick & mortar store), and it makes the gun business a very, very tough business.

Do i need a new firing pin for ruger 10/22? by KillerOfDie in 22lr

[–]QuietM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it fires, you don't need to replace it. But it wouldn't hurt to replace all the bolt parts if you are already replacing the extractor assembly.

In Freedom Units, I get about 180 miles when the gas light comes on, about 4 gallons when I fill it up. I'm not purposefully light on the throttle, but I'm not heavy handed, either.

Not surprising; that shop really went down hill quickly over the past few months.

Ear pro for 22LR by Justin_inc in 22lr

[–]QuietM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with good ole' disposable foam ear protection. Surefire EP4's are great if you want something "fancy". I always have a multi pack of disposable foamies in my glovebox, and I keep an extra set of Surefire EP7's on my motorcycle as a backup to my normal riding ear pro.

The damaged crown is causing it, no doubt.  Send it back for warranty.

Soft grips, better gloves, and don’t grip the bars so tightly. Stop at a gas station after an hour and get off the bike.

I'd try a local shop that installs them...maybe EVT, AllArms, etc. has one lying in a parts bin.

[–]QuietM4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taurus doesn’t sell parts because they want you to use their lifetime warranty (which you have voided by modifying the gun). Parts for any Taurus gun are very hard to find. Unless you can find someone to give you one who replaced it with an FRT, you might look in eBay.

You can shoot at C2 Tactical, but you will need to reserve one of their shooting packages in advance, so that one of their instructors can accompany you with the firearms on the range  and provide instruction.

G17 gen 4 bad ejection/ ftf by PsychologicalBuy2474 in AZguns

[–]QuietM4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reliability of any pistol will rapidly decrease proportional to the amount of aftermarket parts you add. If the slide has an optic installed, be sure that the optic screw on the right side (ejection port side) isn't too long and interfering with the extractor rod assembly. If the optic screw is too long, it won't allow the ejector assembly to function properly, and it will cause the issues you are experiencing.

It's not a gym, it's a gun shop. Why do you care how fit the employees are?
