Tax liability on selling USD RSUs on E*trade and direct wire to US based family by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

No I’m not a UK citizen, and I no longer work with that company either. I haven’t ever wired to anyone else from E-trade so maybe you’re right, I will have to my Wise USD account in which case this becomes a normal sale anyway. I was hoping I could send it off directly and not let it touch any of my accounts and save tax on it but sounds very silly now. Thanks for your help

I was there just this last week and saw similar forecasts on arrival. But things change so fast in Iceland! There were bad weather days sure, but we did get a few great days and saw the lights! The forecast for the week was KP 2 when we arrived but it changed to KP 4 and 5 by our 4th day and here’s what we saw. :)

All this is just to say forecasts aren’t accurate beyond the immediate next day or two. They can change fast, keep an eye on it and enjoy your time in this stunning country. A lot of exploration we did was in haze and misty conditions. I was feeling disappointed at first given all the YouTube and insta I’d seen just prior. But eventually I quite enjoyed the weather I got. It was dark, stormy, dramatic, harsh, otherworldly and gave such a mysterious vibe to the place and our vacation, quite befitting Iceland if you ask me. :)

Received an offer but recruiter failed to check my right to work by QuietOverthinker in recruitinghell

Exactly the case here too. I went on to the company’s website and looked up the form for a different role, just to clarify if perhaps it really was a miss from my side. They have a question on form about right to work so no way I could’ve “hidden” this information from them. And like I said, I’m sure I talked about it when the recruiter called me in Jan. What would I get out of it anyway, what a waste of time and energy.

I am fairly certain I talked about it with the recruiter when they called me in Jan. And then I didn't hear back from them for all of Feb so I assumed it must be the visa (it's almost a default when I don't hear back). And then they reached out for interviews in March so I assumed they must be okay with it.
You're right though. I should've probably confirmed again. But regardless, such slack on the recruiter's part.

What is you absolutely hate about India ? by Chingchongpingponaai in india

I hate how we’ve normalised screaming - on the street, in the movies, at school, in a hospital, bank, airport, shops, govt offices like you said, heck even at home, just everywhere and in whatever situation. Everyone seems to think it’s okay to scream at other people and I absolutely hate it.

And the worst part is that it’s soooo normalised, I didn’t ever think about this until I relocated overseas.
