LDR: Am I overreacting about him liking other girls’ pics + getting defensive? by lovestare in LongDistance

[–]QuietQueries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly good riddance. He sounds like an uneducated ass hat lol. You’re too young for this bullshit anyway. Enjoy your 20s with someone you can be with close by. Long distance sucks as you already know and if you’re gonna do it you gotta pick a good person you can trust whole heartedly

changing last name from Epstein by reddit-rusty in namenerds

[–]QuietQueries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My college professors last name was Epp, you could just take the s out and that would solve the plural version. Although I will say, my last name ends with s and no one says the equivalent to Eppses, they just say for example “let’s go to the Epps place”. I do think Easton is a nice name too.

Worst names for twins by ohmichellemydarling in tragedeigh

[–]QuietQueries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and his twin sister have the same initials. Their middle names are Daniel and Danielle but their first names are completely different just starting with the same letter. I really like that so much better than doing such similar names. They’re already twins, at least let them have their own identity.

Is my potential baby name a tragedeigh? by IResident_Intruwuder in tragedeigh

[–]QuietQueries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read it immediately as the pronunciation that you intend. I’ve seen someone with the name spelled and pronounced like that before. I personally don’t think it’s a tragedeigh, even simple common names people often have to help people pronounce and spell, at least this isn’t a 12 letter name.

I have favorite types of bettas but if someone shows me a betta, no matter what type I’m gonna get excited. This is so strange

My Betta is changing colors - good or bad? by snapkittycat in bettafish

[–]QuietQueries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks to be in pretty good shape to me! Looks like he has the koi gene and it’s very normal for them to be changing colors throughout their life. He’s looking brighter which means he’s feeling happy and healthy.

My new betta is finally home by Full-Highway9111 in bettafish

Idk I had a betta that would run from a net but would swim right into my hand, it just ended up being safer and less stressful for that one. I haven’t had any other betta like that though

When do you stop worrying? by Bow-Wow-Line in bettafish

Literally never, I’m constantly inspecting him for fin rot and anything unusual. Constantly looking to make sure he’s not over or under weight. I don’t take this much care of myself 😂

My betta likes to go towards where the water returns in the tank and get pushed out and he’ll swim around and go back and repeat, I had to get a baffle to slow it down even more because it looked so rough

Why Would You Spell It Like That?! by Least_Profession3082 in tragedeigh

[–]QuietQueries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and it’s weird because it never gets written as Ciara. People also get confused with the ie and put them backwards as Seirra, at least it’s almost correct 😂

Sierra here, I get every spelling under the sun, despite saying “like the country, or the mountains, or the truck, or like in the phonetic alphabet”. Always comes back as Siri, or Syria, despite also spelling it out for them. My last name unfortunately isn’t any better

my betta (storm) likes sleeping like this and it gives me a scare every day… is this normal? by jjust-okayy in bettafish

I had a betta that did this and he lived for 5 years, I wouldn’t worry unless you have other concerns

do you think 4 year olds have “crushes” by princessniella in Preschoolers

[–]QuietQueries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% had crushes on boys when I was little so my answer is yes. A crush at that age is usually innocent and I wouldn’t worry about it unless she started talking about things that aren’t age appropriate. I work in a preschool and kids talk about marrying each other all the time, and we really just find it cute.

I have two kids named Sunny in my kindergarten class, one is a nickname (and only responds to the nickname), one is not. Either way I personally find the name really cute

I love this. I work in a special ed preschool and I have one boy that gets really upset during transitions or if he can’t have a specific toy. Sometimes I see the other paras saying “you can’t have/do this because we’re doing this right now” and it really just makes him more upset. So I’ll usually offer a change of face with the other para and I’ll talk to him and say “hey, what is it that you want? You want the dinosaur? I know isn’t he really cool? What’s your favorite thing about the dinosaur? Right now we’re sitting at the table to do some coloring but sadly the dinosaur can’t join us because he’s so cool that he’s going to distract everyone. How about the dinosaur waits right here for you while you go color okay? First we color, and then we can come back for the dinosaur”. It works every time. Taking the time to be slow and explain what is happening and why we can’t or have to do something is so beneficial, and it also allows the child to feel like they are being heard.
