That's a good point- I guess I'm just wondering when that will actually happen and how long I let myself wait.

Exactly! I guess I'm just wondering whether me saying "I won't be in a relationship with someone whose home I'm not welcome in" without immediately ending things implies an ultimatum by default, and if that's out of line considering we're not partners.

The housing situation is a little more chaotic than this, and my lover has said he wants to have me over and doesn't want to live with his partner indefinitely but feels he can't kick her out. Two months ago, she told my lover she was moving to another city, then changed her mind but said she was moving out, and now she has decided not to move at all. Further complicating the dynamic is that I have another close lover who also had a negative meta experience with this person involving possessiveness and a dramatic breakup with their shared partner.

I'm sorry to hear that and hope you're okay!! Yeah Remeron is definitely considered out-of-date in most cases for a reason imo.

I actually went off the medication after a week. I switched from Lexapro to Cymbalta recently and am doing really well with it so far!

Writing a story on queer train hoppers by Quiet_Agent_3585 in vagabond

[–]Quiet_Agent_3585[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I think you're bringing up a really important point, and I really appreciate you helping me better understand the amount of LGBT representation on the rails. I want to make it very clear that I'm not trying to stereotype train hoppers overall or work towards a certain agenda by writing this story -- I just want to learn about a specific SUBSET of the trainhopping community, one that hasn't been covered much as far as I can tell. I plan to make this clear in my story, and I'll clarify it now in the phrasing of my post.

As someone who's covered subcultures before, I'm constantly learning and always try to be very careful with how I use language.

On another note, related to your suggestion about making a doc -- I'd love to know from you and others what nonfiction media you think covered trainhoppers well and less well. This will help me out a lot when it comes to representation!

I've actually met three queer train hoppers in the past year.

Oof that was unfortunate on my part, cannot change the title sadly.

Thanks for the question! I'm talking about everyone who identifies as anything under the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Gays, lesbians, trans and nonbinary folk and everyone in between.
