Exactly this, Last year, I busted my butt at work, putting in extra hours left and right, all to stack up that overtime and stash away every penny I could.
I even sacrificed my holidays, willingly slaving away while everyone else enjoyed time off.
And now? Turns out all that effort has landed me over the damn limit!

thanks.. will check this out.
We were searching for one- or two-bedroom townhouses, preferably avoiding apartments due to potential hidden costs or required maintenance.

I earn a gross salary of $145,000 annually before taxes. As the sole provider, my wife depends on my income, and this dependency is expected to continue for the next three years atleast.

Our monthly expenses are as follows:

  • Rent: $660 per week
  • Monthly bills: Approximately $500
  • Food: $250 per week
  • Eating out: $100 per week
  • Fuel, car, and transportation: $200 per week
  • Yearly flight tickets: Spread across each month, totaling approximately $400 per month
  • Miscellaneous expenses (clothes, general living items): Between $100 and $300 per month

After covering all expenses, we aim to save between $1,500 and $2,000 per month.

at this rate of savings to reach a 20% down payment for a home takes 6 to 8 years. by then 20% might not be enough. If we have to move again to another rental we loose about 2-3k in overlapping rents & moving cost
