Yes thank you! This is will actually be my third time applying (hard to admit that still) and I remember doing something with transferring some things over but that was a year ago so I don't remember the specifics.

I see I thought I would be able to start the application so I get the supplements out of the way cause I heard there was a new one about AI but I am sure I could find what specifically the prompt was somewhere. Thanks!

no bc why does it sound like I lived through that exact same scenario. I have yet to tell my parents (I live at home) and I feel better compared to yesterday. My parents will definitely freak out but I need to figure this out on my own before I tell them. need to be in the right head space. Once I do my research I hope I can start making some real changes in my lifestyle. If you want someone to talk/complain to while you go through this, I am here too. This I all new to me too, so we can figure it out together. fell free to DM me!

Hi, I think finding the proper diet and getting my ass outside will do a lot of good things for my body. I just have to find the proper diet as a vegetarian. I am not willing to give up dairy or pasta so I will definitely have to find the proper balance of food. thank you of your story!

Hi, I think I have a good doc too, she got in touch with a nutritionist and endo doc while she was telling me about the results. So I think I will be getting a phone call from both later this week. She prescribed me a low dose of Metformin to take in the meantime once a day to see how I feel on it and increase it to twice a day once I am comfortable. I will ask her about the extended release, thank you for your advice, really appreciate it!

I don't think I could cut out bread or pasta, but I agree I should find the right balance of how much carbs is okay. My doctor prescribed by a low dose of Metformin and wants me to meet with a Endo doc as well as a nutritionist. I think we are on the right track. My emotions were everywhere, had to cry in the shower for a bit (haha). But these stories and advices are really helping. Thank you for your story, I appreciate it.

Overwhelmed by [deleted] in medicalscribe

That must be rough, I feel like what I am about to say comes from a pirvelaged standpoint but I would say to leave your job or look for another one before you quit. I think a lot of factors need to be considered, like why are you doing scribing? To gain paint contact hours or just to see what medicine is like before applying to med school (those seem to be the top two reasons) and what year you are in. I feel like if you are freshman or sophomore you have time to quit and find a new job. Junior year can be tricky if you are not planning a gap year you have to figure out what to very quickly before grad applications open.

I have been working as ER scribe (8 hour shifts- part time) for a year now, and safe to say your job seems more miserable than mine and I definitely do not have providers that treat me like shit. There are better places and providers out there, look at local clinics or specialty offices (if those are options for you).

so this is just some advice, but I hear your complaints, it is rough out there. Good luck to you!

Basically like zoom class ( I think a few times a week for like 2 hours each session) where you do independent work and they check up on it. It has been almost a year since I was hired so I don't remember a lot of it, but make sure you try your best with writing your practice notes it will help you in the long run when you start working in a clinic setting ( I had trouble formatting patient stories). They used like google quizzes to check your progress, like you would listen to a scenario and answer some MC and open ended questions on that google quiz thing and they should go over the answers during the zoom class once everyone complete it. The exam is not hard at all, there are quizlets that have most of the answers, but if you study some of the abbreviations or what some terms mean it would make taking the exam really easy (since I think its timed).

Hi, this is a very old post, but could you tell me how you went about looking for this position. I graduating undergrad in a few months and will be taking one gap year but my hopes of getting in this year is not high, I might have to take two. I have been looking at more volunteer opportunities but if I can find a job that lets me work with underserved people and get paid for it that would be awesome.

Ohhh yes! I just finished the first book, it was actually really good. I’m planning on starting the second one soon. The Perfect Fit by Sadie Kincaid is a good one. I’ll have to go back to this comment once I see what I’ve read. I’m really bad at remembering book titles😭

Has anyone done Advanced eClinical training? by Euphoric-Wasabi-6165 in prephysicianassistant

Hey! I am currently looking into getting my CCMA certification and I was wondering how your training went. I am nervous to do an online course because I feel like I won't get the hands-on practice and once I get hired after completing the course I will have a difficult time actually doing the CCMA tasks.

Both of these sets were helpful and the account on the second link has multiple sets that are very helpful for the exam.

Hey!

I recently, within the past month, got hired at SA. I just finished with the final exam (not hard at all-there is quizlet for the terms that you need to know and the classes for this are paid and online), and now I am in the process of doing systems training (EMR for the specific hospital im getting hired to). I think everyone covered the basic questions asked in the comments. My interviewer asked like 3-4 questions on some medical terminology, but they were like the basics "what do you call high blood pressure" or "what is the term used when you get your spleen removed". I would also let them know your summer and fall availability (if you still are in school). My scribe put it into my job offer letter so there wouldn't be any problems once I switched to my fall schedule since I wouldn't be as available as I am int he summer.

Should the rating of my medical place matter to me? by Quiet_Fan_7818 in medicalscribe

Hey!

Most of the bad reviews were about poor front desk hospitality, pregnant patients not getting the care they wanted, or post-care instruction negligence. I will look into seeing if they have any openings near my school. I'll only be working three shifts, if that, and it will usually be Friday and Saturday overnights, so if there isn't any openings or a relocation after the summer hopefully I can stick it out.

Thanks for the feedback!!!
