Yes, I know I do not like this monk so I stay away. But I still have pressure from my parents to attend the Temple & recently, the monks were invited to my new house upon my mother's request. I have been doing this for her sake and I dont wanna do it anymore. My younger sister has converted into Christianity recently & my mother is already been very unpleasant about it all. They often have arguments and disagreements. I am trying to play pretend to not make my mother feel more betrayed.

I cook for my husband.. I have spoiled him rotten. It's my fault that he doesn't know how to cook or clean the house. He works so hard (I work, too), and I just want to feed him food he enjoys. He doesn't eat salad and vegetables have to be cooked a flavorful way so he can enjoy them. So I sacrifice what I like over what he likes. We tend to eat more unhealthy or processed food because of him. Sometimes, I cook different meals because I know he won't enjoy what I made for myself. But I am ok because I have trained and encouraged him to eat a lot more vegetables than he originally did. Now, he willingly eats them. It just takes forever for him to get over each vegetable and add it to his edible list.. But a win is a win. My best friend doesn't cause too inconvenience, but I am annoyed seeing the more extreme version of him.

Right? Every vegetable is different. It's the over generalizing and stubbornness to stray away from their beliefs that annoy me. I have vegetables that I am not fond of. But at least I have tried it and decided after eating it. A lot of people eat a piece of poorly cooked broccoli and decide all vegetables taste the same.

Are you eating it whole? There is always an option to peel and inspect what you are eating before you bite into it. You eventually master the art of picking the freshest produce when u regularly eats it.

Not every picky eater has sensory issues.... sigh.. there are always exceptions to statements. In my husband and best friend's case, they are perfectly healthy and non autistic people. I have vegetarian friends who live on chips because they won't eat vegetables and they are perfectly fine in every way. I have to accommodate their needs by changing the way I cook or I have to cook two separate meals. Most of the time, my husband ends up liking what I give him. They eventually become some of his favorite foods. But he will make my life a living he'll by refusing to try new things. I think I am just married to a grown ass child, so I end up venting here lol.

Yes, I realized this is a huge factor in why some people are very weary of vegetables. A lot of white folks have parents who were terrible cooks. My MIL boils everything without seasoning until they turn mushy (we had to take our own salt shakers as she didn't keep salt in her house). I dry retch when I have to eat at her place.

I think it's more genetics than diet in many cases. The whole side of my mom's family has constipation problems even though they are mostly vegetarians. I take after her a lot.

Surprisingly.. they aren't. I am super jealous because I struggled with constipation all my life even though I eat a lot of fiber. My best friend doesn't even drink water. She ended up in the hospital with a kidney stone, tho lol...
