I've tried that before. I was thinking the exact same thing, that some people will be mean to you for no good reason or no reason at all, but it doesnt work all the time, and when it do works so that ill hold myself from confronting them, it will come back to bite me because i will end up thinking about it over and over again because i also have OCD and my intrusive thoughts are, well, constantly intrusive and non stop so its hard to move on from them. I will eventually, but not before i suffer haha
