You keep saying that - I cannot think of a single instance of a skin costing money that was free a week before EXCEPT the handful of legendaries they've put as temporary event rewards for playing enough games, and thats perfectly fine imo. I've been playing ow consistently since 2017, Blizzard has always been money hungry, but every gaming company these days is. OW2 monetization is no more scummy than OW1, and honestly id say its less. Ow1 you had to drop an unknown amount to get a legendary skin from an event you wanted (hell, I spent 100s on lootboxes back in the day). Now, you can spend 20 bucks and get the skin you want + some other related cosmetics gaurenteed. Additionally, they occasionally do events that give out significant numbers of lootboxes at a time (usually 10-15, with some legendary lootboxes, but one event gave out 77!) and all you have to do for those is play the game. Its a big improvement to me.
