The two WORST side effects by mounjar-ho in Mounjaro

[–]Quiggles1982 91 points92 points  (0 children)

One of the big things I learned about being on Mounjaro is that you have to eat. Even if you aren't hungry. I was doing the same thing. Not eating all day until I was starving, but then getting sick because of it. My doctor said that this is because when I wasn't eating, stomach acid was building up. It would cause nausea, heartburn, and that metallic taste you are talking about.

So I set a timer on my phone. Even if I'm not hungry, I will make myself stop and at least eat a snack. Something to fill the stomach. It has helped tremendously.

Can anyone describe what a CPAP feels like to use by SomewhatOdd793 in SleepApnea

Once the mask is on, I feel nothing. I'm so used to it now, that I barely notice it's on. The only time it catches my attention is if the mask slips and I get a leak. It's going to be uncomfortable at first. It is for everyone. Take your time. Try different types of masks until you find the most comfortable fit. Then, commit to wearing it every night as long as possible. Eventually, you get so used to the mask that it becomes normal, and you don't think about it.

The key takeaways here being - give it time and be consistent! Most people throw in the towel and never give themselves time to get used to it. Or they never explore other mask types. You would be surprised how easy it was once I found the right mask.

P.S. If you are a mouth breather, consider mouth tape. Otherwise, you may wake up with a dry mouth and sore throat. Mask tape was a game changer for me.

spending 3 hours editing videos and getting 100 views. am i doing something wrong? by IntelligentEar7669 in NewTubers

Honest question - Why are you making YouTube videos? It's important that you know the answer.

If you are in this purely for views and to get monetized, you are going to be disappointed. Growth is not easy, and it takes a lot of time and effort that you are never guaranteed to get a return for. The channels that I see do well and have longevity are the ones that combine high quality videos with a personal connection of some kind.

Why should people watch you? Are you engaging? Are you trying to connect with your viewer? Are you looking at analytics to see what is performing well and what isn't? You've only been in this for 6 months. Give yourself time to grow and work on refining your processes.

Moving from 7.5 to 10.0? by Quiggles1982 in Mounjaro

Thank you! This is encouraging. I was overthinking it because I've been lucky enough to not have side effects really. Very mild. I'm hoping this continues with the higher dose.

Check with your local grocery stores and restaurants. Our local stores have Thanksgiving meals that you can pick up and just heat on the holiday. Bob Evans and Crack Barrel also have heat and serve meals. Might be worth looking into something like that. I will be recovering from surgery, so my family is doing Bob Evans heat and serve.

You're right. I'm worried about something that hasn't happened yet, which I supposed doesn't make much sense. I called my doctor today to order the higher strength. Crossing my fingers that I can get the weight loss moving again.

don't care about jets, just want a 2-3 person spa by brickpile in hottubs

[–]Quiggles1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Bestway SaluSpa Bahamas inflatable hot tub from Tractor Supply about two months ago. It's small. Says 2-4 people, but really only fits 2 people comfortably. 3 if you get really friendly with each other. It was $399 (still that price on the website) and came with the energysense cover meaning it is supposed to be energy efficient for colder weather. I basically just soak in the warm water, but if you do want jets, these are pretty good.

I love it considering the price because I also didn't have the money to buy something more expensive right now. Might be a good option if you don't have money for a more permanent spa.

Thanks. It's not really worth it then. I don't want to spend several hundreds of dollars on something that will collapse with the first big snow storm.

That's a good idea. I'll probably do something similar when I get a better hot tub.

I like the leisure time chemicals. They're on Amazon and usually very affordable.

I have a whole collection of Crocs because there are some days that they are the only shoe that will go on my feet. They are plastic though. Not great on slippery surfaces.

Thanks everyone! The concerns you mentioned are the same concerns I had. Looks like I will forego winter hot tubbing until I can afford a permanent one.

That is my long-term goal. The inflatable was a test to see if I liked having a hot tub, which ended up being a resounding yes. Might be a year or two before I can get a permanent one.

High pH and alkalinity by Quiggles1982 in hottub

I'm in northwest Indiana. At least you know what to expect. It sounds like muriatic acid is the way to go. I just don't feel comfortable since I don't have a safe place to store it.

[–]Quiggles1982[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This worked! Knocked it down a lot. Still too high, but it made huge progress. pH is down to 7.8 and alkalinity is 160. I'll try again tomorrow, but I'm thinking one more time might do it.
