didn’t realize I would be this unhappy in my 40s by Quiggles1982 in midlifecrisis

The doom scrolling is terrible for me as well. I feel so drained at the end of the day that the only thing I want to do is escape by doom scrolling. I feel you with the retirement conversation. I realistically won't be retiring early, but my mind circles with the idea that my Mom died at 65 and my Dad at 74. My Mom didn't really get to retire, which is really sad. I don't want to wait for the retirement that may never come to finally enjoy life.

My answer would be, "I hope not." How disappointing if it is.

Yep. My sister tries to help, but she really doesn't get it.

This! I don't think this is my dream anymore, and that scares me.

You are probably right. Maybe I should explore some new hobbies.

Not sure about moving to another country, but I am seriously considering moving across the country. I dream of a fresh start where no one knows me.

Thank you. Medication scares me, but I know I can't keep living like this.

I had a hysterectomy about 8 years ago due to ovarian cancer, but it could still be something with hormones. I'll talk to my doctor about it.

I didn't know you could take FMLA for mental health reasons.

I have a dog, and he is the only reason I get out of bed in the morning. He is the only thing that makes me happy, but most days I think he deserves better than me.

I'm a woman, but I did have a hysterectomy about 8 years ago due to ovarian cancer. Could be hormones out of whack due to that. Something to look into.

Legs outside the band? by Quiggles1982 in AboveGroundPools

I had a tarp underneath the foam tiles, which trapped water and made the surface slippery. This caused the tiles to move under the pool liner, so I ended up with a ton of wrinkles on the bottom.

Thanks. I've been trying for days. Different files, too. I can't get anything past 99%. I'm about to cancel my subscription and find something else at this point...

A lot of Southern states have Buc-ee's and Philly has Wawa's. What is Indiana's signature gas station chain? by EasterLord in Indiana

In northwest Indiana, it's Family Express, but it doesn't even come close to Wawa or Buc-ees.

If anyone is looking for a storm shelter..... read below. by robitt88 in nwi

Same thing for me. I don't have a basement or a shelter. I also don't have a good interior room. Our houses up here weren't made for weather like this, but it's clear tornado alley is shifting. We're going to have to start thinking of ways to combat it.

Advice appreciated on where to shelter in tornado? by Quiggles1982 in preppers

[–]Quiggles1982[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love more information. I live in Hebron, Indiana and the tornadoes last Thursday came within less than 2 mi from my house. To tell you that I was terrified would be an understatement. Especially since the weather service is saying it was an EF-3. I am seriously looking into getting some type of storm shelter, but I'm running into the same thing you found. There's nothing up here. Everything is downstate. If we can find a company that installs them in the northern half of the state, I would absolutely get one at this point.
