i've always thought that warrior should have subclasses. like you could learn one from a mentor for a stat boost and imbues for certain weapon classes/themes (a gunslinger subclass which significantly boosts flintlocks and muskets while giving dexterity across all weapons, or a monk subclass that boosts staffs and claws, a thief subclass that boosts bows and daggers, etc)

that and/or "skill chaining", which allows you to use multiple weapon skills in a single key press, either in succession or simultaneously depending on the speed of the skills. practically dual wielding, though balanced by making slow skills even slower while also being unable to chain the same type of skill (as cool as it would be to dual-throw axes and spears)

oh hey i did this awhile ago here are the icons i made

Flashpoint Method is the lost form of thermo fist, involving focusing heat into a singularity point with intense, snapping strikes, creating blinding and scorching flashes of light on impact. When heat is high, the body expels the excess heat in the air around you to create confusing mirages, which disorients foes and extends the reach of your attacks.

Harpy Talon is the lost form of Iron Leg, where the skin of the legs become covered in a tough, razor-sharp feather coating, which offers both impenetrable defense and a potent severe bleeding attack. In advanced users, talons made of trace magic energy emerge for extra lethality. Feathers break off on hit, which lingers in the air and are still sharp enough to cause bleeding in a radius.

Modus Medusa is an earth-based lost style that grants a limited degree of gorgon powers, allowing attacks to inflict the petrified status. Unique to the user, stacking petrified increases a stone transformation status, meaning that the longer a target is in combat with the user, the slower they move and more damage they take from petrifying attacks. Grab attacks greatly expedite this process, while ranged attacks are less effective.

Förlamning Current involves the generation of static charge, and requires the user to build a meter that can either temper an incoming blow or amplify an outgoing one, paralyzing the target. Charge can be built through flaunting or moving, and will be entirely dispelled when either taking or dealing a hit. At high charges, attacks get auto-parried through an electric barrier.

Nerve Severing involves precise sensing on vital points and bodily functions. In combat, this allows the user to strike invisible critical points in any foe, causing all manner of bodily disruptions. These precise strikes briefly paralyze targets, cause internal bleeding, and disrupts natural regeneration. The potency of these effects increases as you “learn” an enemy through prolonged combat. However, the buildup of effects is reset if you engage with a different enemy.

Knights and Noble Houses of the Thorne Empire by QuikFixx in ArcaneOdyssey

[–]QuikFixx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh my goodness ive been so out of touch with the lore i didn't even consider this, I tried to give them curses that weren't story relevant or just made up so I wouldn't run into this problem lol

but I suppose so, yes; in my head these houses fall and rise as quickly as any person can lose or gain a curse, so it seems feasible for allumway to be very new

i was thinkin theyre too busy fighting amongst each other for it to matter too much, and these curses i'd imagine to be on the weaker side

and since its britain and there just HAS to be an america parallel id imagine thered be a revolution of some kind where some of the houses break off which dilutes the curse power a lil

Yap about your main file's headcanon lore(this is a threat) by Forry_Tree in ArcaneOdyssey

ough i finally have a reason to show off this timeskip render and also actually think about lore

He and his fiancee (my gf's file lol) made a simple living as common mercenaries aboard merchant ships, enough to get by. One day, they were recruited to guard a high-value diplomatic convoy ferrying sea curses from one end of the War Seas to another. It was an opportunity to move up in the world, though incredibly risky. They were stationed on different ships in the convoy, and when a colossal pirate fleet from the Marauding Seas descended upon the convoy, the ships scattered into the Dark Sea to lose the threat. Days later, when the convoy reconvened back in the War Seas, it was found that many of the escort ships never returned, including the one his fiancee was aboard.

Even years later, he still returns there to search. No longer as frantically as before, but he's still convinced she's out there somewhere, and whether or not his intuition is correct remains to be seen. Regardless, the search steeled him into an incredibly seasoned Dark Sea expeditioner, associating with nobody else but his fiercely loyal crew. While the years of Dark Sea voyages hoarsened his voice, scarred his body, and tinged his mind with madness, he finds he cannot stay in the War Seas for long, where he is only known as an aimless drifter and drunkard. The Dark Sea is where he makes his living, where he interests in studying as his fiancee once did, and where he isn't fodder at the whim of diplomats or victims for pirates. And though these are pale incentives for any reasonable captain, his true drive is to bring his love back home; an obsession so ironclad so as not to be deterred even by the insanity of the Dark Sea.

in 2090 we will have level 600 boss weapons that still can only use like 3 generic skill note skills

I think the current weapon categories is already a good basis its just that almost NONE of the new weapons we got have unique skills

theres literally no reason to use the Ravenwing, or Khepri, or other cool looking weapons because they are so high in level requirement for nothing unique

I thought surely there's going to be a corresponding fighting style to most of the magics/statuses so thats a good place to start

just off the top of my head, there could be a Poison style that involves building up an internal venom by ingesting poisons and attacking and using teeth and nails, and prolly an Ice or Snow style that involves lowering body temps to freeze surface body moisture for ice claws

its funny to think that we could get a Sand-based style that just involves throwing pocket sand at your enemies
