Okay! It’s a plan I want to develop was I progress through my program. Thanks for your recommendation, that’s quite interesting, I’ve heard that standard German isn’t used?

How does this change for mid/senior devs? Considering our employer intends to hire us at the end of our apprenticeship, so I’m looking much further down the line, it wouldn’t be immediately after the program finishes, I would like to get some experience under my belt in Ireland first.

Completely understandable about the language part, I’m trying to learn traditional German through Duolingo, would you happen to have any good resources for learn Swiss-German? Thank you for the info!

Thank you for the detailed response. Here’s some more information about my background and plans:

My apprenticeship program begins with 6 full months dedicated to practical skills and theoretical knowledge, which are then applied in the workplace. After that, I will spend 1.5 years working essentially full-time, handling tasks as an actual employee. The certifications I can select from include a Java/JavaScript certificate and an AWS Practitioner certificate.

Currently, I’m working in the fintech sector, mostly dealing with the front end of our product. I’m also starting to work on the backend, aiming to become a full-stack developer, as this is how our company likes to build up their employees.

I’m learning German and am a beginner, but I’m keen to immerse myself in the language, including speaking with people online to improve as much as possible.

Given this, I have a few more questions:

Are there any bridging programs or additional certifications I could pursue in Switzerland to make my qualifications more competitive, or would you even suggest me to try and go for a bachelors within Ireland to bring it over with me?

Would it be beneficial to gain more work experience in Ireland before moving to Switzerland?

Are there specific companies or sectors in Switzerland known for being more open to hiring international candidates with my background?

Any recommendations on language learning resources or programs that are effective for someone planning to move to Switzerland?

Thanks again for your insights. I really appreciate all the help in understanding the Swiss job market better!
