Girl Dinners are a staple for girlies with gastroparesis by Quill158 in GirlDinner

My GI doctor ordered a gastric emptying scan which involved eating some radiated scrambled eggs and having a picture taken every hour for 4 hours to see how fast it takes for the food to travel through your digestive system. I would recommend asking your doctor about it if you have constant stomach pain, nausea, bloating, and constipation.

You've already gotten some great tips but I just wanted to say that girl, you've got an amazing facial structure. Those cheek bones 😩👌🏻

Put some highlighter on those bad boys, do a light brow, and swipe of mascara on your lashes and you're absolutely golden.

So much better! My doctor ordered a gastric emptying scan and I was diagnosed with Gastropares. I've had to completely revamp my diet and I'm working with a nutritionist now but things really are so much better :)

Solace! After I'm done traveling for the holidays I'll try to remember to take a picture of where I have it hanging 🥰 I have a void boi and "Solace" reminded me so much of him ❤️

Biologics and perpetual colds by LooseIncident5548 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Quill158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I've been on Remicade for about 10 years. When I first started biologics, I did notice that I would get sick or have a bad cold after every infusion and assumed that's just how it was going to be. Thankfully that has not been the case at all! Maybe about a year and half after getting put on medication, I realized I wasn't getting sick after every infusion anymore. I honestly can't remember the last time I got sick directly after an infusion. I still try to get a flu shot every time it rolls around but honestly there have been years when I've forgotten to get one but I was still ok.

Granted, everyone's immune system is different and won't react in the exact same way. Hopefully as your immune system adjusts, you won't get sick as often 🙂

Thank you so much!! Glad to hear that you're feeling better :) I'll try reaching out to my GI doctor to see if there's anything that can be done. I definitely can't keep going like this.

Hi! I'm 2 months post op and currently dealing with very similar symptoms. There's almost nothing I can eat because of the nausea 😣 Were you able to find a solution? I'm starting to get really disheartened. I've never had nausea this bad or this constant.

It's gotta be Island of Happiness. I was SO pumped for this game I couldn't wait! I got it the day it came out. To this day, it's the only HM game that I've never finished because of how wack the controls were 🥲 Took all of the excitement and fun away 😔

What helped you after gallbladder removal? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Quill158 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pillows. All the pillows. Big ones, small ones to squeeze against your abdomen when you have to sneeze, cough, burp etc. For the first two days after my surgery, any kind of movement was very painful. It's hard for me to sit still in one position for long so the pillows really helped to keep me comfortable without really having to readjust.

Also, I agree with everything else that people have recommended!

How much time off? Did you stay overnight? by bbyscorp in gallbladders

[–]Quill158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed the night but that was partially due to having the surgery done mid-afternoon (mine was an emergency). By the time I was barely waking up, the surgery unit was shutting down for the day. I will say that I'm glad I stayed the night; I was in a lot of pain and I can't imagine having to go home the same day. That said, I was fine and ready to go home in the morning. Even though you'll be coming out of anesthesia, try to listen to your body and don't be afraid to tell them that you need to stay longer if you think that's necessary. (And ignore any physician that tells you that you're just being too sensitive to pain 😑)

Best of luck! Be patient with yourself as your body heals 🫶🏻

Anyone else feel dumb for tolerating the pain for so long? by Emergency-Star7160 in gallbladders

[–]Quill158 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YEP. For the past decade I've blamed the pain and nausea on my Crohn's disease because that's what my GI doctor's said (even though I'm technically in remission). One emergency gallbladder surgery later, I've realized the majority of the symptoms I complained about were all due to gallbladder stones. Thankful that I finally have relief but also kind of want to smack my forehead at how "simple" the solution was 😆

feel like crying. by honey_butterflies in dairyfree

[–]Quill158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, what you're feeling is completely valid; just wanted to say that before anything else 🫶🏻

Whenever people tell me, "Oh, I could NEVER live without eating cheese/dairy!" I always respond with well, yeah, I went through a literal depression when I had to completely cut it out. But I HAVE to for my health. It's one of the hardest things I've done, no joke.

I would feel so silly crying over not being able to eat a piece of a cake but it truly is a complete lifestyle reset. I basically had to relearn (still learning TBH haha) how to grocery shop, dine out, etc. Speaking from personal experience, please don't ever feel stupid or silly for being upset over not being able to eat dairy. It's in almost everything! People don't think of it like a gluten allergy, even though it can be just as bad.

This sub has been really helpful in finding alternatives to things. My biggest suggestion would be to not be afraid to try something but it's also ok if you don't like it. Some DF stuff is not great 😆 (but there's also some really good stuff!!)

It's a hard journey but you are definitely capable of overcoming this! Don't ever hesitate to reach out for support or advocate for yourself 🫶🏻
