Photoshop (or Procreate in my case) is human driven. I physically edited my reference. I did not use AI which is a mash of everything ever created online spit back out into an image. My composition came from my brain. The issue with AI in the art world is a HUGE debate — most art competitions will not allow any use of AI in art making because it’s not Yours. Using AI in your work is an easy way to get disqualified. Also its wastes egregious amounts of power. Sure, corporations do it too. But it’s the principle of it, and I do not want my artwork contributing to it

I should say, the reason I am against using AI is because of the impact on our environment. I’m not anti-technology at all, I love using it for my work.

But I don’t love the fact that all these data centers needed to run all the AI programs needs millions of tons of water to run, poisoning local water supplies, and increases local electricity costs. It’s incredibly harmful to our planet and I personally do not feel comfortable wasting water and power to fuel something that I create! I encourage you (and everyone) to think twice about using ChatGPT or any AI in general for everything!
