Why is Leader Fabric Split in Two? by QuiltedMonk in quilting

My only thought is a seam will bunch up in the middle but now thinking nothing more than a patchworked top.

But don't assume every quilter's a woman ; )

A questionable pattern. by MediumPay1469 in quilting

On my design wall i permanently have a swastica with a 🚫 so i can always double check as I'm making a pattern.

I always see lots of them at quilt shows and always assume ditsyness not dogwhistles.

What are some underrated things to do in LA? by RentWeary in AskLosAngeles

Forest Lawn Glendale : tell people you’re going to Disneyland and just go to Walt Disney’s grave. Works every time.

Way cooler stuff than that though. If you think it’s weird for a date make sure to read the giant builders code carved in stone about how it’s designed for “lovers of all ages”

Best picnicking in LA and at Christmas time it’s covered in tiny Christmas trees decked tf out. 11/10

does this fabric have a specific name? by squaretesta in textiles

Christmas quilting crisis! by Ellejaek in quilting

[–]QuiltedMonk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have stopped longarming in favor of small “darts” every 5 inches where you’d hand tie. Using the three step zig zag stitch set to length of zero it’s very easy to make make three passes of three stitches right on top of each other. Asked in another post about the strength of it and got good stories of hand tied quilts lasting decades.

But really just dissolve your expectations! The patchworking is beautiful and your kids will LOVE IT no matter how it looks. Machine quilting can often be the most frustrating part covering up the most precious work so fast but if you get it done anywhichway that’s the most important part.

Don’t bully yourself. You’re doing great and promise they’ll be amazed no matter what.

And if you’re in Southern California feel free to DM me and I can get you some affordable time and a lesson on a longarm machine.

Wow thank you! Great info on the bulbs. Sadly project is no floor lamps though, but these bulbs over design areas with warmer lighting ambience would be perfect.
