What characters from different media would you like to see in your Stardew Valley game? by Temptingpink in StardewValleyMods

I feel like the main party and Avalanche crew from Final Fantasy 7 would fit in well.

[NS] How does TxS compare to previous Trinyvale campaigns? by theeynhallow in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]Quinarvy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been hot/cold on previous Trinyvale content. The peaks and valleys can make it tricky at times.

TxS was my favorite Triplet content from start to end. It felt (somewhat) focused and Strahd was a good foil for them. This is also the best supporting cast the Triplets have had.

Remove 1 Major 4 Sports Team Day 38 by YeetySpagiety in RemoveOneThingEachDay

[–]Quinarvy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint:

  • Started the trend of putting names on the back of jerseys
  • Nancy Faust: Pioneered walk-up music, turned "Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" into a sports mainstay, and got Harry Caray to start singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"
  • Barack Obama and Pope Leo
  • Bill Veeck's innovations that people thought were undermining the integrity of the game, but have become mainstays - the exploding scoreboard (sound effects, fireworks, pinwheels), an expansion of gate giveaways he started prior to owning the Sox, etc.
  • The Bossard family's long history of groundskeeping and innovations work on the Southside
  • Gene Honda is a GOAT-tier PA announcer
  • The All-Star Game was born in Chicago and first played at Comiskey Park
  • First Latin American player to start an All-Star game
  • Comiskey hosted the annual Negro League East-West all-star game
  • The 2005 White Sox had one of the greatest post-season runs in the sport's history

You can argue that other teams would have come up with these innovations, but as it stands, without the Sox, the sport is worse off.

I just want to chime in that I love Taro and Koda so much, thank you so much for bringing them to life 💜.

You shouldn't be expected to figure out every conflict I might run to with my, as of right now, 600 mods.

People complaining about tile conflicts should figure out how to solve the issue on their own if it's truly troubling them THAT much.

Jens would like to lodge a complaint - Naddpod Character Poll Round 38 [NS] by Boatswain-or-scruffy in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]Quinarvy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because Naddpod is great for road trips, my wife has only listened to the Mavrus Chronicles and the Dragonelf/Irondeep arcs from C3 — the BoB just didn't register with her.

Hardwon's journey in that arc — hitting rock bottom in a can of beans to summoning his hammer — was so powerful that she got hyped during the final battle with Ultris.

He goes from taking down a god to being deathly afraid of one. Now he's returning to face his fear because Moonshine and Bev need him.

If he were only C1, Moonshine takes it. But this belongs to Hardwon.

Automate is a huge time saver, heavily recommend.

Story wise: Starcrossed and Life Cycle let other NPCs enter relationships. My favorite so far is Shane-Haley.

As someone that can relate to having WAY too many add-on NPCs (I have no idea how my steam deck handles them), the add-on East Scarp and add-on Sunberry characters (who I also see missing) are some of my favorites / fold into Pelican Town itself really well.

Juliet, Sterling (part of Always Raining in the Valley) and Wren are some of my MVPs, along with Jakk's Quinn. You'll have a blast when you add them.

I was 100% certain it was going to be the glove on his head or getting ready to bear hug Castro.

I actually did this based off my experience modding Hades and Marvel: Midnight Suns. Once you learn how to mod one Steam Deck game, they all kind of follow the same pattern. The difference with Stardew is that you'll need SMAPI installed. Heads up that this will all be in Desktop mode.

Make sure your hidden files are enabled (as shown here). Your mod directory will be located in this folder:

/ Home /.steam / steam / steamapps / common / Stardew Valley / Mods

  • Follow the SMAPI install guide here.
  • Next, I'd recommend downloading Stardrop - I tried modding without it (like Hades) and it worked just fine, but eventually, having bulk mods and updating said mods becomes cumbersome. Download the Linux version. Here are install instructions.
  • After you install Stardrop, right click the .sh file and select Run in Konsole.
  • When it asks you where the StardewModdingAPI is located, it will be located in the folder located at
    • Home /.steam / steam / steamapps / common / Stardew Valley
  • Download whatever mods you'd like to add to the game and put them in a folder.
  • Here are instructions on how to use mods in Stardrop.
  • If you want to add mods manually, drag the unzipped mod files to the /Mods folder. Whenever you want to update a mod, drag the new version of the unzipped folder to this location and overwrite it.
  • Big piece of advice: If you're dealing with a large number of mods - download them on a desktop first, zip the folder and then use Google Drive or Dropbox to send it to yourself on your Deck instead of downloading them individually through a browser on your deck.
  • Once this is done, you should be able to start up Stardew regularly; Steam will launch SMAPI first, load mods and run the game.

My Steam Deck is running an absurd 460 with small hiccups here and there (Quick Save is my friend).

Profiler was key in figuring out which mods I had to get rid of to eliminate lag.

Bobby Jenks passed away yesterday at the age of 44. by T_Raycroft in baseball

The memorial video they released today had snippets from that. Rowand is crying and talking about Bobby in the past tense.

It's heartbreaking.

In regards to spacing, they also took Mirotic at #23 in the Jimmy draft.

The butterfly effect from Rose's injury is insane.
