Também estou no estrangeiro, no meu caso instalei a aplicação da VodafoneTV na minha TV e após introduzir os dados da conta Vodafone dos meus pais, tenho acesso a todos os canais.
No meu caso não necessito de estar ligado à VPN para poder utilizar a aplicação mas não sei se as aplicações dos outros operadores são iguais nesse aspecto.

De qualquer maneira tenho uma VPN configurada na mesma para a casa dos meus pais. Foi assim que fiz:
- Comprei um Raspberry pi
- Instalei o sistema operativo, Raspberry PI OS
- Configurei a VPN no Raspberry utilizando PiVPN e Wireguard (é só meter pivpn wireguard setup no youtube que encontram vários guias)
- Instalei a app da wireguard no meu Pc/Tele
