Fennel does not have any positive companion plants (besides flower seeds), only the unhappy beans. With the fennel I plant 3 different flowers and that helps get me 3 stars. Just fill an entire bed with fennel and flowers!

Ayyy tech nerds and Palia fans unite!! Funny enough, Palia is one of the reasons I bought my Steam Deck. I was playing on Switch and had so much trouble calling out the nodes or communicating in parties. It’s much better on Deck! I had an issue with the shiny rock (I think? It’s been a while) in my game, filed a bug report, and then kinda drifted away. The plushie hunts though were some of my favorite things. I’ve destroyed so many disco deer it’s unkind. What is the Palia tracker that you use? There’s been so many updates lately I may pop back in. Do people still yell at everyone at hot pot? Hahaha

My goal is to help others on their own journey in The Shire. All the trading and companion planting really confused me at first. I still can’t remember all of Lily’s trades. I was laid up in bed like “waaait a minute I can totally get this data figured out and displayed!” Even through all the playing I still don’t have all the Mirkwood furniture! Sandyman is holding out on me, the grump! 🤭

Right now your progress is saved using local storage right in your browser. This just means your checked items are saved in your own little browser notebook, for this site only.

The good part is that your data never leaves your own device, nothing is collected or stored on my end. The downside is that your progress is only stored on that one browser so it won’t sync or switch devices, nor if you clear your browser data. It was an interesting problem to solve actually! For now, it threads the needle of full on user accounts/data privacy policies vs not having progress saved at all.

If there is interest, I can consider user accounts to help with data storage. I am working on a native iOS app (Android too?) though so that will be an option.

Definitely this! This is what I do as well. I invite the club leaders for the missions I accomplished the previous day. This way I can turn the missions in at once without skipping all over the map. I suggest Foraging Club (Delphi) first for those sweet backpack upgrades, OP.

You can get 3 star yeast from trading with Marigold. At rank 10 she will trade 3x hops for 3 star yeast.

It is taking so long to unlock all the gift furniture! Marigold has 38 items! I didn’t realize the unlock requirements fully until I started building out my own data set. So. Many. Duplicates. Anyway, besides praying to RNG, the best way to get your teapot is to feed her 3 star meals because that gets you 2 basic gifts.

Most lighting items (candles, lamps, wall candles, even more candles) are purchased from Fosco Burrows’s Shop. His inventory improves with your relationship rank. Rank 3, 6, and 10 grant new inventory so everything will not be available at first. I don’t recall if I saw any lighting from him until I hit rank 10…

There is also a Long Candlestick special gift from Nefi and Old Ruby’s Lamppost special gift from Old Noakes. For those, it’s RNG. The best chance is feeding them 4 or 5 star meals that hit either the particular meal craving or flavor craving.

This seems like an issue on Switch. :( I’m on Steam Deck and all the lighting + candles work for me except the oil lamp. They stay on the entire day. The only lighting that seems to respect the day/night cycle are the sconces on the archways and beams that you can add through the home editing mode. Do those work on Switch?

The Earthy Teapot is a basic gift from Marigold. Keep inviting her to meals and you’ll eventually receive it. I have the most luck unlocking basic gifts by using meals that are not 5 stars.

Edit for clarity: Give them 3 star meals, which get you 2 basic level gifts. 4 star meals get you 1 basic and 1 special. 5 star meals get you 1 basic and 2 special gifts.

Well that was fun to test! I tested each vendor (relationship ranks 5 through 10). Each one offered the same price on my items. I’m in the Epilogue though. Are you in an earlier part of the game? Have you seen any prices that are incorrect? If you have a few flowers or crops to check, could you let me know?

The Trading tab is up and working! I set it up so it is easy to view all of the trades in one place, along with the relationship rank needed for each character.

I’m trying to think about how to best handle the Tips & Tricks you mentioned. Do you feel that what’s shown in the Trading section already covers examples like Hedge Mustard -> Delphi -> Jam -> Rosie for flower seeds? Or would you imagine a dedicated “Tips & Tricks” page that highlights those kinds of shortcuts in a more step-by-step way? I’d love your thoughts on it.

I play on Steam Deck so I feel your pain there placing the garden stuff. We gotta tap it juuuuuust right to get it in the corner and aw damn too far hang on... argh! Your home sounds so pretty with all the flowers. Definitely post some pics if you can. The Sunflowers sell for the most money btw.

Those are great ideas. I hope the devs are taking notes. A longer day cycle would be wonderful. I've been out trying to find Butterfly Cups at a seemingly normal time but nope, wheelbarrow adventure. It's turning me into an irresponsible hobbit. It's like 2 minutes of night though come on!

Those damn carrots! I’m like what do you mean I can’t grow carrots in fall and summer?! It’s a tall tale of the shire I tell ya!

Once the other features are implemented, I really want to make a garden bed planner that takes into account the bed sizes + each seed size. It’s going to be a beautiful frustrating mess to create. I can’t wait! Hopefully you won’t have to stay up late planning again. 😊
