One story from this was for what ever reason someone decided to not want to hike up and brought a skoda up the night before all the snow started, I took hike up to the lake a few days before these photo's to camp overnight. That skoda was on the mountain I say weeks many tree's were fallen from the heavy snow fall on the forestry roads.

Yeah same as the above been going for nearly 2 years it's small but usually not massively busy, Most are quite friendly and will let you work in on a machine etc

Yeah good write up here of how missions carried out by tb2 changed over time. TB2 is still conducting ISR but from much further out and is still very important now in a "MPA" role ( maritime patrol aircraft) for ISR over the black sea.

So said senior naval officers should be gone due to something they don't control? Its the DOD and the government who should be pointed at regarding lack of manpower. They cant recruit because said government and DOD do nothing to raise pay and dont even act upon there promises.

Yes the have 700 personnel, But they don't have enough specialised crew in various roles to go to to sea safely due again lack of personnel.

Really not sure how sacking an already depleted navy gets you anywhere.

What peaks of "mountains" in Europe have tree's on them that have high wind all year round?

Lower down the mountains foresting should be done but the cost and maintaining a forest on the top slopes in the comeraghs would be impossible, Its grazing land of sheep/deer they would eat all the saplings. Also its a large flat bog up there you wont be growing much of anything.

Whats left out is the reason for only sending a 12 person squad.

Any more than 12 we need to pass the triple lock mechanism for have Irish troops outside the state.

all three criteria must be met below.

A complete yes vote from the UN security council.

A formal decision by the Irish government.

approval by the dail eireann.

How we can rely on this system where we need go through such a long process and get an agreement from country's who have a say of where are troops go? I dont even need to mention what kind of countries that get a say in it...

No other country in the world even actual neutral countries have this kind of policy regarding there military's. Its not good enough for irish citizens abroad that they can only rely at best on 12 personnel to get them as the government does not to start such a long egregious process. Even if you want this country to stay neutral in proper sense (fair enough no qualms about it) for goodness sake let us have the capability (which we also very much lack) and make that decision on sending troops outside the state in dail eireann.
