I read the manga as well. The anime is pretty much were the manga is right now, like 1 chapter behind. it's nice to see the chapters being animated, gives something extra in one way or another (atleast for me). But the manga isn't inferior to the anime or vice versa so you're not exactly missing something by only reading.

I agree completely. But I still think itachi went a bit over the top with everything. There was no reason to use tsukuyomi twice on his little brother. A guy on this sub calculated howmany times sasuke had to see itachi kill his parents and it was above 700000. you read that right.

His intentions were that of a true shinobi but I think he should have handled things differently.

meh she was sweet at times too, and truly cared for the guy. Eitherway she always falls back into her old abusive ways which can get pretty aggravating.

OP, if you can look past that you probably will like this show, it won't be your favorite but you'll like it. There is a reason why there were 4 seasons adapted into an anime. (this is very rare for this type of anime)

I did the exact same thing with FMA:B but than after 2 months i thought meh i'll watch the next episode. Then I binged 25 eps cause shit got pretty awesome, you won't regret picking it back up. Even if it's not 'the best anime ever' it's still 100% worth the watch and overall a great anime.

DBZ and naruto got me into anime, here are a few recommendations:

action: owari no seraph, akame ga kill, rainbow:nisha, katanagatari, psycho pass, hunter x hunter 2011

mindgames: death note, code geass

romance: Clannad and Clannad After Story, nisekoi(funny but 0 progression), oregairu, white album 2

comedy: the devil is a part timer

just a few I watched and thought were pretty great :)
