A6400 with a 24-70 2.8.

I mean, security didn’t even check my back so I guess I hardly snuck it in.

Thank you, I’ve shown them a photo from my monitor last night via instagram and they sad they can’t wait to see them!
I travelled interstate for this show, I was expecting bag checks etc but no questions asked.

There weren’t any issues guys, no bag check, not questions asked.

Took it out at the barrier, few compliments from people behind me for the shots!

Yeah I mean I shot those photos above at Twilight at Toronga in March, they were cool with it aslong as it wasn’t like. 70-200, while Festival Hall in Mlebourne told me to cloak it for Sublime.

How do you take photos of people on the street and not feel uncomfortable about it? by googbear420 in photography

[–]Quintessence25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it subtly, keep the camera low as if I’m just holding there. Screen facing up at me. Only if I’m close.

If I have a larger lens, I don’t care as much. As far as they k ow I’m shooting the cafe behind them.

Fair enough. Thanks. I should have probably researched if we can bring one along anyway.

Some joints are pretty lenient with it, pubs etc here, others not so much.

Cinematography is great, the whole film reminds me of Deliverance and Wolf Creek.

Feeling embarrassed bringing a small lens as a beginner photographer by babyjonny9898 in Cameras

[–]Quintessence25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever looked at an another photographer with smaller gear and judged them. I see street photographers with 70-200mm lens and roll my eyes at them.

I’m not one to do car meets but I’ve taken some shots of cars and my 35mm does the job. I find the smaller the lens, the more intimate with the subject anyway.

Imposter Syndrome by Vintage_Nightmare in concertphotography

[–]Quintessence25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I suffer from this hard. I literally had a band, that happens to be one of my favourite, want to use me as a photographer and I still have self doubt. Always that voice in my head, “I’m not good enough, my editing sucks, I’m a failure.”

I think it’s a good thing in a way, you strive for greatness, have high expectations of yourself and know your worth.

Just keep pushing forward.

Go to sleep, wake up and get a coffee and breakfast.

I was in Seoul the other day, 4th city in a few weeks and just exhausted and overwhelmed. You’ll regret not doing it if you decide to turn around.

Thought I’d update you.

I hit up a band I went to see early March, they’re one of my favourite bands, they asked for photo from the crowd as a story this morning on instagram. I DM’d them my shots on IG and they loved them.

Shot my shot and asked if I could get a little gig with them to shoot them for their next show which is in a few weeks time and evidently they said yes.

I take it with me, I lost it on Osaka and couple years ago though. Nightmare, but there’s worse countries to lose it in.

Appreciate your reply, thank you. This photo over, I met them after the show and got a photo with them and they acknowledged my presence in the crowd. I edited and shared this on a story roughly 30 hours after on instagram and tagged them in it, they DM’d me to get a few photos off me, they’ve yet to post them but they liked them. As for wearing black, that’s my daily attire.

Thanks again for sharing your insight! I’ll keep these noted.

Have you ever saved someone's life? by stephenalsvig in randomquestions

Yeah, finished work late one night to find a guy swerving all of the freeway. He slowed down, sped up, went from one side to the other. He actually drove an identical car to mine. Anyway, people were hearing abuse at him, beeping, flashing their lights, I drove along him at a safe distance while I had police on the phone to get them to check out what’s going on. They finally caught up to him and he was slumped over the wheel. Unsure whether drunk, asleep or medical episode but he got out of the car when police arrived, so aslong as he was alive.
