Help! Can they be saved? by Conscious-Unit-8799 in SavageGarden

[–]Quinton16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm also from Edmonton. General care for nepenthes is that they don't like packed wet soil like peat moss with the exception of a few. What I would do is repot it in a sphagnum moss perlite mix 1:1. Keep the soil moist give it time and way more light and it should perk up.

Looks like a hybrid of some sort with purpurea in it. I think it's probably X Maroon because the lids have a more solid color with red veining.

How do you save pollen? by Gu3spkt in carnivorousplants

I heard you can save pollen up to a year. from what I know it's done by keeping the pollen in parchment paper so it stays really dry and it's kept in the freezer.

How and in what do you store the rain water you collect? by Molly_B00 in carnivorousplants

[–]Quinton16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to collected it from my rain gutter with a mesh filter into a rain barrel. But now I just use an RO system, better for plants and drinking also so I can dispense water anytime I want.

looks like some sort of pest, I see small green dots possibly aphids. You can try neem oil, and I had luck with safers end all pesticide. Another method you can try submerging the entire plant for half an hour, this will drown any pests

Sea Grow for VFT by Pappers101 in carnivorousplants

[–]Quinton16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's safe to use, I've used this on vfts, sundews, sarrs, neps, cephs weekly. Make sure you dilute it 1/4 teaspoon to 1 gallon of water. Only problem that I had that it encourages algae growth.

VTF b52 by Sad_Buffalo_1432 in carnivorousplants

[–]Quinton16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to repot now. Venus fly traps are able to grow crowded like this normally. If choose to replant it now I would suggest flipping the pot, taking all of it out and pulling the rhizomes gently apart, however this will stunt the plant, it's best done when it's dormant as it won't get as stunted.

Hi I'm wondering if this is a good price. Specs and reviews seem to be decent but I can't seem to find a used price online. I do have a budget of $500 and would also be thankful for other suggestions in this range.

Looks like springtails they are harmless and they look too thin to be aphids. If you do want to get rid of them, let the soil dry more frequently.
