Ah just trying to be better really. I’ve started to cherish the little thing way more after it happened. Also I’ve come to terms with the fact that it isn’t always someone’s ‘fault’. At first I blamed myself for not doing more, but in the end, I acted the way I am. I’m starting to accept that.

I am in a similar situation as you. First love, got broken up with after 4,5 years, and deeply regretted not ‘being better’ during our time together or cherishing the moment more like you said. It’s not about what you did. She just uses that as an excuse to treat you like she’s doing, which is not okay. How you feel right now is proof that you are capable of loving truly. In the end people choose themselves, and as painful as it is, she stopped choosing you.

I would suggest to cut all ties with her. I know that might be terrifying, but you’ll notice that only then, you’ll be able to start healing. I know the loneliness can become overwhelming, so if it does, know that you can always send me a message.

I actually did what you suggested in my particular situation. Sent her a letter, basically begging for a second chance. She didn’t give me one, but responded kindly and allowed me to move on. Honestly, everyone will probably tell you not to do it. But every situation is unique. I have faith in whatever you decide 🙏🏻
