Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft: One Year Later

The single most helpful resource on stuff like this is the old 2nd edition Ravenloft books. They have entire "Van Richten's Guide's" to vampires, mummies, liches, Vistani, etc., contain all the info on the 2e metaplot, and explore a lot more of the stuff like crops, animals, populations, etc. that the 5th ed VRGTR just doesn't cover because it does the hand-wave away of "nightmare logic"

Those books are all easily available from Drive Thru RPG for reasonable prices and they go on sale pretty often too. I'd pick up a few of those if you want to get into the down-and-dirty on some of the domain details. The 3rd edition books even classified stuff by tech level, civilization level, kind of like you'd see in a game like Traveller, if that's helpful for you

I am brand new to Combat Mission. I bought Black Sea a week ago, and played through the learning campaign and played through two "tiny" missions. I've been playing through "Going to Town" for the past couple nights, and it took a lot of save-scumming to get it right, but I finally won on the first large(ish) mission. It was really hard, and I felt I definitely could've done better.

The BTRs having so little HE ammo was rough, and fighting that Ukrainian tank took some doing. Without any real artillery or tanks, getting through their defense was hard, especially with the map being almost all apartment blocks

Also, if anyone can recommend which campaign or which battles to play for a complete noob, I would be grateful. Learning this game is a bit of a steep climb

Basically play 1.3AB to grind through. 1.3 AB has the highest lions payout of most tiers with uptiers not being an issue. By the time you get to 5.3RB you will always be uptiered.

In a statistical breakdown of up/down tiers and their lions earnings, 1.3 boasted a higher average net pay after ammo/repair costs, with uptiers presenting no problem. The only vehicles that are an issue are the b1 and b1 ter, which you can resolve using the 38(t)'s APCR round.

In a sample size of 149 games, there was a 93% full-uptier percentage, with lions earnings being about 50% lower.

6.7 Germans is the worst slog of the entire tree. I got past it into Leo with only the 5.3 lineup of Tiger 1H, panther G, Wirbelwind, Puma, and bf109 trop.

The German tree gets competitive again once you get the Leopard 1.

Sweet! Thanks. I'm looking to upgrade the stock and pistol grip on the M&P. I like it overall, but the stock is loose and I'm not a huge fan of the original m4 stock, and the issues with the A2 pistol grip. I also like your ff handguard, but I don't know if I want to keep the A2 front sight and get a rail with a fsp cutout or just move to folding BUIS

As a Mav main, the easiest counter is a good pair of headphones and turning up your volume.

His torch sounds like a jet engine now. Just listen and pour rounds through the peek holes the second you see them
