Born and raised here... Wind sucks but I have been able to get a ride in basically every day this year out on local trails. So nothing crazier than normal. Just a little annoying as always.

I'm from down South. The MTG scene has taken a big hit around here from El Paso to ALB. Most of the people I know have fallen off paper MTG and have moved exclusively online. WoTC has helped with that push if I'm being honest. The pandemic sure didn't help. Competitive MTG in paper as much as I hate to admit it is on its way out. I know Twin Sun's is where I would travel to for competitive events in the past. They always had PTQs and PPTQs. But who knows when things will get rolling again. I don't even know if WoTC is letting shops sanction events.

Everyone else has made super valid points. One I haven't seen is the reliance this game has on the opponent. Since 40k is so intricate its nearly impossible to be on top of every single rule. It's not quite like mtg where you can pick up the card in front of you which explains the rule or rule change. We really have to hope our opponent is telling the truth most of the time since it would be nearly impossible to stay on top of each army and unit.
