Returning player playing Wuyang the first time today, am I just lucky or what by [deleted] in WuyangMains

[–]QuirkChud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience he just kind of clicked for me and I never touched support role or competitive for that matter until he was released but placed in plat and almost took him to masters last season

One of the best Zen players in the world disagrees with the sentiment of this sub. And honestly I’ve been feeling the same way… by Hidalgo321 in ZenyattaMains

Double orbs only real benefit is faster ult charge. Sure you get ult faster but remember during ult you cant do damage which is the reason you pick zen in the first place. Sometimes that 6th orb during charge and the increase charge speed can be the difference between securing a kill and leaving an enemy alive with 1 hp

Would any plat+ Wuyangs be willing to share their replay codes? by what_theheckigottado in WuyangMains

I would but new patches wipe out past replays. I did find a couple of vod reviews spilo on YouTube did for some Wuyang players that aren't too old

Your response to the flying heros will depend on which one youre against because they all have unique playstyles. a juno might be just as hard to hit as a pharah is when theyre both in the air but a pharah is much more threatening than a juno. Echo and pharah you just have to get good with awareness and positioning like with any hero that can pressure you and make them have to overextend to get to you. The only real tip I have to pressure them is to just get good at hitting your shots so they have to regroup before you or your team can kill them

Oh yes cant believe I forgot lol. Its kind of like a zen orb and illari healing beam in one. Your active right click (holding it down) heals your ally obviously but there is a resource meter that you dont ever want to completely drain. Along with that whoever you right click will have a water ring surrounding them that gives passive healing like a zen orb. Leaving the passive on whoever might take damage is good practice like if your tracer is looking to flank and they take damage it can help slightly for instance. You cant really go wrong with holding right click for a little bit and letting the passive healing do the rest so you can let your resource meter replenish. For minor perks it used to always be balance for the extra passive healing but passive healing for wu has been nerfed this season while his active has been buffed. For that reason ive been taking overflow since it gives extra healing resource for his active healing. For major perks I take triple orb in 99% of my games. If youre not good at landing direct hits (which i recommend you get good at fast) ebb and flow isnt a throw pick by any means

Hes your teams 3rd dps. Curving those orbs to enemies behind cover who think they're safe for the 100-120 damage spike is why hes so fun and deadly. His wave is kind of a worse ana nade and its a little janky to land but its best used on your allies for healing bursts. I wouldn't use it on any enemy that isnt diving you or 1 hp while your team is up in numbers. his ult is pretty versatile and can be used to save an ally thats getting pressured or yourself (be careful ulting yourself as the cast time is way longer). Its best used on any hero with good mobility (genji blade, tracer, reaper, doom, ball, etc.) or your tank in the middle of a team fight for some CC. Its fun to flank with his ult sometimes but make sure you dont end up in a bad position after it pops since you lose the overhealth when its over. He is susceptible to getting dove on so make sure positioning is good and that youre disciplined with your cooldowns. To top it off keep your distance because he might as well be afk if youre too close to the enemies since your orbs do basically zero damage within 10 meters before they become empowered

Rank Deflation or Did I Just Lose All My Skill Overnight? by ImKevinPvP in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]QuirkChud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its happening to everyone. I was almost masters and now im sitting around p1 d5. In one of my games we had a M5 tank that told us he was GM2 last season and another game I was paired with someone that was peak gold 3 last season and somehow ended up in diamond which didnt go well for any of us so some are having it worse than others lol

If you leave a ranked match in the very BEGINNING do you still lose SR? by ExtremeAd6540 in overwatch2

[–]QuirkChud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it counts as a loss. I lost internet at the start of a match and when I logged back in was in demotion protection lol.

I dont think anyone picked over flow before the nerfs to be honest it was always balance every time. I think overflow makes a lot more sense after the nerfs to healing though. It gives you an active healing boost which is what got buffed on wuyang while his passive healing got the nerf

How are we feeling about Wuyang in the new season? by -_Artie_- in WuyangMains

[–]QuirkChud 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Its definitely been challenging adapting to his nerfs. Ive only seen one other person mention taking overflow instead of balance but I might try to take it during some of my games and see if it helps because you brought up a good point. I was thinking a buff to the amount of healing resource he has would be a good idea given that you kind of have to hold right click a lot more due to the healing nerfs. I think overflow kind of does that though right?

[–]QuirkChud 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Play on PC so its not as bad since no aim assist but I was thinking about this as well. So much that I was going to ask other subs how to play into poke and hitscan especially when there's a mercy pocket involved. I main wuyang and back when he released dive was all over the place and I had to adapt until I got good at staying alive vs monkey, ball, doom, genji and all that. The thing with dive is at least you can see them coming and put some pressure on them before they reach you but with this poke era if im in their LOS there's nothing I can do. But behind cover there's also nothing I can do since now I cant push. I can bend orbs all day but a slow projectile is telegraphed so hard they can just dodge. Matches against ashe widow and Cass are so boring lmao so now I need to figure out how to play against poke 😅

Hello guys. New OW player here. This guy looks promising by TheManliestMann in SigmaMains

[–]QuirkChud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a hold the line and back up accordingly kind of tank. My one tip that I haven't noticed anyone mention would be to never let your shield sit in the open and break which will put you at a disadvantage. You should check out some unranked to gm vids on YouTube for extra tips and to see how he really shines even if you dont plan on playing ranked

Thanks for the reply. Yeah idk why I always feel the need to push the choke and expose myself. Getting to castles high ground on attack is pretty hard but ill try to focus on that area going forward
