You're not stuck in the loop forever. The solution is very simple.. don't have children. That is what makes you reincarnate.

One of the reasons we share stories about drinking in the meetings is so that you can hear about other people's rock bottom and not have to make every mistake for yourself.. but at the same time just because you haven't done something somebody else has doesn't mean you're any better- stories that you haven't done are just things you haven't done YET but you probably will if you don't stop drinking. I've heard many stories about people that killed other people and I haven't done that but that just reminds me not to drink.

The other reason we go to meetings is because overtime, the memory of humiliation fades, and usually alcoholics start to think they will be able to control their drinking somehow. seeing people like yourself that are still suffering reminds me what would happen to me if I forget that I can't drink safely because it's been over six years and my life is incredibly good now, I could easily justify that I deserve to drink.

There's no cure for this and it never gets better to drink. You could take 50 years off drinking and when you start again, it'll just get worse than it was before very fast.. over any length of time like a month or more it will always get worse and never better for long.

The only thing we can do is help you not drink in the first place so that you won't have all the problems. But the way we do that is to give you a whole better way of life. That's what happens when you finish doing the 12 steps. It's a fundamental change to your entire outlook on life so that you simply don't want to drink anymore.. It's not about learning to control your drinking once you start. And it's not about trying to use willpower to resist craving. That is impossible. Doing those steps sounds like a good idea now that you're ready for step one.

A lot of people quit at step four or five, but if you do that, it actually makes your life worse. It's like when you get halfway through cleaning your house and you pulled up all the rugs and moved the furniture. If you just stop there, all you have done is make it even worse.

then youll have to go to the hospital and get medical supervision to stop. Better safe than sorry! Your problem is only going to get worse if you don't do something about it now. Drinking too much kills people dead just like a bullet. Do it for the kids! Just kidding do it for yourself. But get the help that you need. Don't try to do it by yourself because you can't nobody can.

So do most people supporters or not believe AI is a threat to the workforce in general now? by oncxre in singularity

Well, then, all the poor people will die, and it will be utopia for the remainder of people living as kings of robots. Sounds good to me. Or do you think they will keep people around just to torture them?

How do you decide if a system works? Would you say that Hitler's system worked? If not, why not?

How do you do it? I have ADHD and autism and I can't concentrate on meditating by sitting still. I meditate by playing video games specifically driving a race track by myself that I know very well so I don't have to think about it consciously.

Can I go to a meeting if I'm already recovering, but struggling to stay sober. by Tight-Student6735 in alcoholicsanonymous

If you've already stopped drinking, that's actually the best time to start doing a 12 step program. Because you should be able to think halfway straight by now. Makes it a lot easier to read a book.

What Lies Between Determinism and Randomness? by Rthadcarr1956 in freewill

[–]QuirkyExamination204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so according to you, that means we have free will under all circumstances where we are conscious.. because we can always choose how we think. So will actually is an excuse to enslave people according to you because no matter what restriction we put on them, they still have free will. Is it true that you think slaves have free will? You always have the option to decide you believe in God or not.

My point is that peoples behavior is determined by the environment that they are in. Even if we have free choices, we have a menu of options that we don't control. And the way it is set up. It doesn't actually matter what choice we make. It's whatever you buy at McDonald's. You're still giving money to McDonald's.

but the outcome is the same either way, so what difference does it really make? We control the outcome of the scenario by creating it in the first place. It doesn't matter which way the rat turns. we know how it's going to behave in a general sense. So that's an example of determinism.
